Chapter #1: The chance~

I was extremely nervous. The chance to perform live in front of thousands of people was a once in a life time opportunity! Now I finally have the chance to do so. The "Phantoms" Opera house was one of the most popular Opera houses to perform at. They called it that because of the many legends of a mystical being that lived there. The actual name of the Opera house was "The Golden Voice". I've wanted to play there for such a long time. Oh, right. You're probably wondering why I said "play" instead of "sing". Well, I don't really sing. I do play the violin, though. And I play quite well! At least, that's what most people in my town say.
I couldn't have practiced enough for this audition. It was like my childhood dream coming true! The most exciting moment in my life was about to take place! A solo part in an Opera. Who knew?!
I actually had the choice of either auditioning for a solo, or playing for the opera singers. Either way, they loved my violin playing. No doubt! My first professional performance was at Kingston Hall. It isn't really a "hall". It is a stage made specifically for solo musicians, like myself. While I was performing, little did I know that the owner of The Golden Voice Opera House himself was there, writing a review of the performers. I didn't find out until the weekly addition of the paper came out 3 days later. The name of the owner: Mr. John Wilkins. He mentioned me specifically. His review said:
"The performance was absolutely astonishing! I had never seen such a wonderful display of
instruments. More specifically, a young violinist. Sonic the Hedgehog played a series of
beautiful notes that took my breath away. That is just the kind of talent I'm looking for
in my opera house for the grand instrumental interlude. I will definitely make it my top
priority to send him an official invitation to perform as a solo, or play for the singers at my
opera house for the Winter Rose Performance this year."
-Mr. John Wilkins
And I got a letter with a golden crown stamp a day after I read the review. That indicated that it was from the owner himself. His "signature" more or less. After I read the invitation, I immediately started to practice. Days turned to weeks, and the Winter Rose Performance was just around the corner.
My parents drove me to the Opera house. When I walked in, I felt like I had just walked through the doors of heaven. Beautiful marble pillars lined the hallway covered in a soft-looking red-velvet carpet, leading to marble stairs with what looked like a solid gold railing, spiraling up. It was such an amazing sight to behold. 99% of my mind was focused on acing the audition or getting to play for the singers, but one tiny percent was focused on the Phantom. Who is this mystical creature, and why did he, she, or it haunt the opera house? I just wish I could meet the being for myself, but everyone avoids it because of the rumors. Serious injuries, falling set pieces like lights and polls, even hangings and suicides have been done in this very opera house. The only thing that has kept this place open and alive is the beautiful music. The Phantom sure sounded violent, but none-the-less, I wanted to meet him. Hopefully, I can get close enough for a glimpse, but as of now, I must calm my nerves, and get ready to play, for I was up next.
My name was called, and I walked out onto the large wooden stage with every bit of self-confidence I had. The judges told me to start when I was ready, so I began. A short but graceful melody. It went quite well with the scenery of the theater. Then came the course notes of the song. I couldn't help but sway and dance to the song a bit. It was an elegant piece after all. A little while before I finished, I noticed that one of the judges was in tears from hearing me play. Was I really this good?
I ended the song with a twirl. The judges clapped. I was a success! They all stood up from their seats and clapped their hands high in the air. I took a bow and exited the stage, waiting for my results. Usually, your results were given to you on a sheet of paper a day or two after you auditioned. However, before I had a chance to exit the waiting room, where I had previously waited to go on stage and audition, I heard a voice call my name. In response, I turned to my right to see Mr. W: John Wilkins. He was wearing a golden robe with white threads creating a pattern along the sides of the robe. What looked like golden silk shoes that curled at the top, he wore on his feet, and he held a scepter in his hands. To finish his royal appearance, the man wore a crown on his head patterned in red and yellow jewels. If that wasn't king-like enough, he was a King Cobra, which made me wonder. Accompanying him was two men cats in black robes and a pink hedgehog woman in a pink ruffle dress with a woven hat, gloves, boots, and a closed umbrella. I walked towards them a bit. We met near the exit door, and he gave me my results in person.

"My boy, words can't express how outgoing you were during the audition." He commented. I blushed.
"B-boy?" I asked nervously.
"Why yes, that is how I address all men younger than myself."
"Oh, I see… t – thank you very much sir." I thanked Mr. Wilkins.
"You're quite welcome. Now, let's get down to business."
"Business, Sir?"
"But of course! You want to perform, don't you?"
"Well, yes sir."
"Then you must meet someone."

Mr. Wilkins stepped aside and the woman in pink stepped forward.

"Allow me to introduce Ms. Amelia Bethany Rose. The lead opera singer of The Golden Voice."

She stepped forward and held out her hand. I gladly accepted and shook it lightly.

"Hello Mr. Sonic. It is a delight to finally meet you in person. John has been talking an awful lot about your wonderful violin playing, and it was even more amazing to experience it for myself at your audition." She said with a smile.
I couldn't help but blush at how pretty she looked. The perfect match of pink. I notice in the past I have blushed multiple times at many things, but she was just so gorgeous. I think I may be crushing on her, but I snapped myself out of it before it became obvious.

"A pleasure to meet you as well, ma'am."
"Oh! You're better at manners then you are at playing, so it seems." She complimented me while blushing.
"Heh.. Thank you Ms. Amelia Bethany Rose." I nodded.
"Oh dear, you mustn't address me by my full name every time you wish to speak with me. Just call me Amy, my darling."
"Oh, of course, Amy, What a nice name." I smiled at her.
"Why, thank you Mr. Sonic."
"Mr.?"
"Yes. You may have never been addressed that way before, but here you are a Mr. It is a way of showing respect." She explained.
"Ah. Well thank you."
"Sure thing, dear."

After our conversation, Mr. Wilkins told me that if I wished to play for the singers, I'd be practicing most of the time with Ms. Amy. I was quite exited for the Winter Rose Performance. Even more exited to practice with Ms. Amy if I chose to do so, but even with all this commotion going on, I still couldn't shake the thought of the Phantom out of my head. The chance to meet him was obviously impossible, but just to see his shadow, or learn more about him would be nice.
Mr. Wilkins and Ms. Amy lead me upstairs to a room. When they opened the door, I saw what looked like any normal bedroom that you would find in a town home, however, it was a bit different. The bed was quite large. There was a dresser with a mirror, and many drawers. The bathroom was made all out of different kinds of marbles and tiles. The whole living area was fit for someone who lived in a castle. I nearly fainted out of excitement when Mr. Wilkins told me that this is where I would be staying if I made the audition.

"R-really?! I'd be living here? In the Golden Voice Opera House?!?"
"Haha. Yes, Mr. Sonic. And you made the audition by the way."
"W-WHAT?! But I thought I'd get my results in the mail…"
"Ha. Well, let's just say that… I personally think that you have a bright future here at The Golden Voice."
"Yes. As do I!" Added Ms. Amy.
"Really? Even if I don't sing?"

I was a bit nervous because not that many people here…well..didn't sing.

"But of course! As far as I'm concerned, you're just as important to this opera house as I am." Said Mr. Wilkins with confidence.
"W-wow, Thanks… so much."
"Your very welcome, dear! We shall notify your parents A.S.A.P so you can start practicing at once!"
"Thank you, Ms. Amy."

Shortly after, My parents were notified, and I was now a part of the opera house. Still… the thought of the Phantom remains in my mind…

So, this fan fic is a sonadow, yes. However, I will have its sonamy moments. This will only occur because it is a priority of Phantom of the Opera (you all might have a clue who the phantom is). Just to clarify: The Golden Voice Opera House was all my idea, and it wasn't copied from any other story if you're wondering. However, I did get the idea to make Mr. Wilkins a King Cobra from Amortem-Kun's character: [link]

But Mr. Wilkins has NOTHING TO DO with her character. I just got the idea to make him a king cobra, and this is where I got the idea from, so I wanted to give credit.

And if you like sonadow and you haven't seen her bitmark comic: [link]
CHECK IT OUT!!! It's the COOLEST thing EVA!!!

Thx for reading, and leave a comment if you will. :aww:
