and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Crystals
where the Shadows lie.
So I had this idea where King Sombra had a lair why beneath the castle, where he hid the heart cruelly, knowing no one would dare search for it. He knew it's power and effect on the people of the empire. Why not put it somewhere safe, somewhere only he could access? At least it's better than him being a dingus and hiding it on top of the fricking center of everything, where any half witted pegasi could have flown by seen and seen the damn thing. Oh well.
I tried a new thing with the lighting in this one. Tell me how you think it worked out.

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactIf I could summarize this piece in four words:
ALL OF MY BONERS.
I saw this and I made this weird sound that.. okay, you know when rarity gets excited and she sort of flips out? i made that noise then i like. realized i made it and got really quiet and super embarrassed.
THE LIGHTING IS FUCKING RADICAL, OK? Holy shit. It's shiny and like intense without begin all ~**~*~*~*LENSE FLAAAARE~**~**~~* like some artists do.
The crystal is done beautifully, and dear LORD THEM STALAGMITES are fuckign well done. With the bluish green light from the crystal reflecting off them... Must've taken a lot of patience.
I also like how you contribute to the new episode fan art in a way that isn't like DURR HURR PONIES??? PONES!! I DRAW A PONE!! because LOOOK at that shit. a non-brony could appreciate it just as well.
