This is a wonderful piece of art, and the shading is gorgeous. Background, foreground, and the subject are evenly balanced as to not make one overpowering the others. The colors on Spitfire are vivid and yet not too bright as to make the picture hard to look at. More diverse colors might have been required in discerning the mane from the body as it looks like the orange in her mane is just slightly darker her pelt, while in the show there is an obvious difference in colors as her pelt being a bit more of a saturated yellow while her mane consisted of varying shades of orange. The color change in the mane is also hard to discern as it looks like it all one shade of orange with variation in the colors due to lighting. Intersection of mane to body could have been improved around the neck as it looks like there is is her neck and suddenly her mane, a bit more gradual intersection of neck and mane could help make it not look so sudden.

Shading is amazing, but the brightest spot on her flank makes it look like that part of her is far more reflective than it should be, almost like looking at car glare from the sun. The lighting on the goggles is also inconsistant as the farther back one the same amount of light reflection as the one facing the light source while it should be blocked by Spitfire's shadow. The shading around the eye suggest a sort of concave head, with the eyes being deeply set in the skull, while the actual head should have a more roundish feel to it, it just comes off as looking almost like a bad eyeliner job. Not sure about the eye light source, if you were trying for a realistic take on it, they should be repositioned to match the light source, but if you were going for show style then they are fine as is.

The intersection of Spitfire and the cloud could be improved as the clouds are usually seen as rather fluffy, but in this it looks like she is standing on a sort of pancake cloud with it barely popping up around her hooves. It also looks like she is casting no shadow on the cloud itself, as if each were done seperately then put togethor near the end.

Background colors are inconsistant with the light source, as the background is recommending either a rising or setting sun, while the shading on Spitfire looks like the sun might be around five or six in the afternoon.
