FINAL STORY CHAPTER 1~ SHADOWS FROM CHAOS

CRYSTAL EMPIRE ZONE ACT 1
~Blizzard Of Darkness

Sonic and Tails fly high above and see the mountains and white clouds ahead that shroud the next destination while Twilight and her friends are on the ground in the Friendship Express. Both parties have quite a trek to go to get there. Sonic stands on the wing of the plane and asks Tails what they're in for.

Sonic: Alright! So where are we going here?

Tails: The place is called the Crystal Empire! It's said to be like a reservoir for all things positive in energy.

Sonic: So if Eggman has control of that, there'd probably be no chance of this world recovering, right?

Tails: Actually, funny you should mention that. If Eggman truly DID have control over it, the whole country would be lost in corruption. It wouldn't be recovering right now. That can only tell me one thing. Eggman DOESN'T have the Heart!

Sonic: What Heart?

?????: He speaks of the Crystal Heart, of course! And he's quite correct. Clever boy!

Sonic: WHOA!!! *Turns around and sees Discord standing on the other side of the wing* WHO THE HECK ARE YOU!?

Tails: DISCORD?! What're YOU doing here?!

Discord: AH! So you know of me! I should feel so special! I have a fan!

Tails: But weren't you turned to stone?! How are you here?!

Discord: The answer is right under your nose and under the bald one's nose hairs! Your very existence and presence in this world was enough for me to break free! But I hate repeated introductions!

Twilight: *Looks up and sees what looks like Discord* Is that…. No, it couldn't be!

Discord: Hmm? *Looks down and waves to Twilight* AH! TWILIGHT SPARKLE! LONG TIME-NO SEE!

Twilight: DISCORD?!?!

The others look up and see Discord with them out of the train's windows.

Rainbow Dash: What?!

Fluttershy: He's here?!

Sonic: Quit taking up space on the wing! What're ya here for?!

Discord: Oh no reason! Just here for a little fun! You seem like the exciting bunch and Eggman is starting to get old! So how about you give me some invigoration!

Tails: Don't waste our time, Discord! We have business to get to! Now get off my plane!

Discord: Hmph! Now that's just rude! Fine! *Teleports infront of them and flies backwards into boss battle position* TECHNICALLY I CAN'T BE ON A PLANE IF THERE IS NO PLANE AHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

Sonic: Now you're just throwing in semantics!

Discord: BAH! I'm done being bored! You'll give me some fun WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!

Tails: Fine! If it'll get you out of our way!

Sonic: BRING IT, FREAKSHOW!!!

BOSS- SONIC & TAILS VS. D.I.S.C.O.R.D.

As Tails pilots the wing and tries to shoot Discord from a distance, Discord fires out projectiles of Chaos Energy of his own to take their health bar down. His attacks are a wide arrangement of different projectiles that affect the flight patterns and speed of the plane as it tries to get closer and closer to him. One of his attacks is even able to mess with their sights and aiming capabilities. One of them even turns them into an actual hedgehog and fox temporarily just for him to laugh at them. What the heroes have to do is get close enough to him and give Sonic a chance to hit him with a Homing Attack just once. Tails shooting at him will take his speed down and allow the plane to catch up to him so that Sonic can hit him with one good Homing Attack to finish him off! The challenge is just getting to him. But once they do, Discord is defeated!

Discord: AAAAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH!!!! That hurt so much it tickled! Huhahahhahahahahhah!!! Nicely done! I think I'm done playing this game!

Sonic: Good! Now get lost!

Discord: Oh let me finish! I'm done playing that game! But I got a new one! It's their turn to play! But I don't want you to feel left out! Here! Why not join in?! *Shoots the plane* HA! BYE!!!

Tails: AAAH! SONIC! HE'S JUST BLOWN OUT THE ENGINE!!!

Sonic: How did you DO THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT-?!?!?!?

Discord: Being the spirit of Chaos has its perks! Now for some MORE FUN! AHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

Sonic and Tails fall to the ground and abandon ship. They land on the train below with the Angel's Ring. But they quickly see that the Chaos Emeralds are missing. Discord took them!

Discord: And just to make sure there's no cheating in this one, I'll be holding onto these! You can have them all back if you can survive this next game! Hmph! CHAOS EMERALDS?! My powers of Chaos put into these 7 shiny little rocks? That would almost be insulting if not so funny!

Sonic: HEY! GIVE THOSE BACK NOW!!!

Discord: Be patient, boy! You'll get them back soon enough! If you win, that is!

Sonic: Fine! I'll beat you again! Come down here and I'll beat you twice over!

Discord: OH! Not me! I meant a new player! He's been waiting so long to play again, so I HAVE to give him a turn! So, I'll just do THIS and BRING HIM IN!!! *Forms the Chaos Emeralds together in a ball of light and fires a beam from it that hits the land below* COME TO PLAY, BIG BOY! OOOOOOOOOOH- SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMBRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! *His voice causes an avalanche that blocks off the train from going into the mountains and a light from the ground explodes into smoke, which turns into flowing clouds of shadow* OOOOH!!! Looks like it's time for me to get going! He's going to be SO happy to see you all again! Tah-Tah for now! *Vanishes*

Tails/Spike: WHO DID HE JUST CALL?!

?????: RRRRRRRGH! HUHUHUHUHUHUHUUUH….

Sonic: Why that dirty-

Tails: Sonic! LOOK! *Points to the distance as the shadows advance forth* No….. It's him?!

Sombra: RYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!

Sonic: Look at whaaaaat THE HECK IS THAT?!!?

Twilight: Sombra! Everypony and dragon out of the train! NOW! Conductor! Warp back to Ponyville on the double!

Sonic: Yeah, this might not end well!

Tails: Sonic! We have to go! NOW!

Sonic: If you say so! Let's get out of here!

The heroes rush towards the mountain and find a small series of opening for them to take. They split up into 3 groups. Sonic takes Apple Jack and Pinkie Pie, Tails takes Rarity and Rainbow Dash, and Twilight takes Spike and Fluttershy. Sonic calls up Tails and asks him who- or what the thing outside was. Twilight listens in on the conversation using her horn to communicate with Tails' frequency. Tails explains.

Tails: That was King Sombra! A demon unicorn king! He's the master of corruption, fear, and darkness in this world, but he's supposed to be dead!

Sonic: So you're telling me that THING was another horse?!

Tails: A pony? Hard to believe, but yes! He used to be just another pony of this world, but he eventually came under corruption and a large amount of power!

Sonic: What kind of power would he have?

Tails: From being able to slip into shadows to fit any surface, to creating dark spikey crystals in his path, to trapping, to who knows what else he can do in terms of dark magic! Though his favorite seems to be using his own corrupt essence to instill fear into the eyes of anyone and anything!

Sonic: Discord used the Chaos Emeralds to summon him! That must've been Chaos Control! But why?

Twilight: Wait, Chaos Control? What's that?

Tails: It's a time and space manipulating technique used by those who can utilize the power of the Chaos Emeralds. It's kinda like your Elements of Harmony, but used in a different way to either resolve problems, or cause even bigger ones. In this case, it's the latter.

Sonic: Discord used them to summon that Somber guy like that? Sheesh!

Tails: Well, Discord is dangerously unpredictable! I guess he figured that something as powerful as that would just make for a fun game for him!

Twilight: He has no idea how serious this is! He doesn't even care that the whole world's at stake! That callous idiot! But back to these pressing matters! King Sombra's chasing us, we have to get out of here! Huh… I just thought. Just the fact that we're heading to the Crystal Empire CAN'T be a coincidence!

Sonic: Well, let's just make sure we deal with this pain and get those Emeralds back! They're our tickets home!

Tails: I know! You have the others with you?

Sonic: A couple of them, yeah! Apple Jack and Pinkie Pie are with me! But not everyone!

Twilight: Don't worry, Spike and Fluttershy are with me!  We'll all meet on the other side of the mountain!

Tails: Ah, good! Then we're on the same page! Rarity, Rainbow Dash and I will meet up with you guys!

Twilight: Okay! Just be careful guys! I know what Sombra's tricks can be like. Don't let anything fool you!

BOSS- SONIC VS. S.O.M.B.R.A.

Sonic: Got it! Over and out! *Signs off as do Tails and Twilight* C'mon! Let's get to the other side before- WHOA! *Stops short when a black crystal juts out of the floor in front of him and Sombra's eyes burning out of them, staring at Sonic* Hey, what's up, buddy?

Sombra: YOOOOOUUUUUU!!!!!

Pinkie Pie: OOOH Freaky! I don't think I can do that with my eyes!

Apple Jack: *Kicks the crystal and tries to break it* Git outta our way!

Sombra: HUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! *Steps out of crystal and knocks them back* NOT A CHANCE!!!

Apple Jack: AAAH OOF!

Sonic: Hey! Not cool, man! *Spin Dash* TAKE THIS!

Sombra: *Gets hit and falls into the floor* YEAAAARGH!!! *Hits floor and turns into shadows and runs off* HUHAHAAHAHAAH!!! RUN, BUT DON'T HIDE!

Sonic: Oh don't worry, pal! I don't hide! I just RUN!

All 3 run passed the newly formed dark crystals as their new obstacles. Tails and Twilight's teams have to deal with the same thing.

Fluttershy: YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!

BOSS- TWILIGHT VS. S.O.M.B.R.A.

Twilight: AAAH!!! *Brakes* Sombra!

Sombra: *Looks out crystal* HMMM…. HRRRGH! *Sees Twilight* HUHAHAHAHA!!! I REMEMBER YOU…. *Sees Spike* BUT YOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!! RRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGH!!!!!!! *Blows a gust of wind that launches black crystal shards at them*

Spike: AAAH!!! RUN! RUN AWAY!!!!!

Twilight: AH! *Starts dodging* OW! SPIKE! QUIT PULLING ON MY MANE!!!! WHOA! Fluttershy! Take Spike and find a way out!

Fluttershy: What about you?!

Twilight: I'll catch up! GO!

Fluttershy: Oh! Okay! Let's go, Spike!

Spike: WAIT! TWILIGHT!!! C'mon!

Twilight: You don't belong in this world, King Sombra!

Sombra: DON'T WASTE MY TIME WITH YOUR BANTER! DIE!!! *Launches shards at Twilight as she dodges and tries to run* HUH?!

Twilight: Not this time, Sombra! *Fires at the ceiling and causes it to cave in* Later!

Sombra: RRRGH!!!!! YOU WON'T GET AWAY!!!!!! *Dives into ground and turns into shadows*

BOSS- TAILS VS. S.O.M.B.R.A.

King Sombra chases after Twilight, but ends up going to Tails' party instead.

Tails: AH! You!

Sombra: YOU KNOW OF ME… GOOD. NOW SUFFER!!!

Tails: Rarity! We need a shield!

Rarity: Right away! *Forms a shield that Sombra just rushes and shatters* AAAAH!!!!

Tails: ACK!

Rainbow Dash: They ain't working! No defense! Let's take him down!

Sombra: HMPH! RRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!!!! *Increases gravity and forces Rainbow Dash to the ground and raises black shards up to strike her from above* HUHUHUHAHAHAHAHAH!!! DIE!

Rainbow Dash: AAAAAACK!!! HEY! NO FAIR!

Rarity: *Forms a shield of crystals and protects Rainbow Dash* I think not! You're not the only one with power over gems!

Tails: *Jumps up and tries to attack with a Spin Jump* Take THIS!
Sombra: *Dodges and rushes Tails back down to the ground* PATHETIC!

Tails: ACK!!! Rrgh! Fine! Then take a look at the light! *Holds up the Angel's Ring to him and shines the light at him* BURNS, DOESN'T IT?!

Sombra: RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!! WH-WHAT?!?!? RRRGH!!! *Melts into shadows and escapes* THIS ISN'T OVER!

Tails: Huh. I guess that worked! I think. C'mon! Let's go while we can!

Rainbow Dash: Hey! I can move! Sweet! I'm with ya!

Rarity: Excellent thinking, Tails. How did you know that would work?

Tails: Beings of shadows plus light don't tend to mix very well very often.

Tails, Sonic, and Twilight make tracks to the end of their paths.

BOSS- SONIC, TAILS, & TWILIGHT VS. K.I.N.G. S.O.M.B.R.A.

When all three parties meet up at the end of the tunnels, they reunite at a ledge on the mountain side. They are about to take a breather when one of them looks up and sees King Sombra's head and a dark cloud over the mountains. King Sombra roars a mighty roar and causes an avalanche that falls after them. He stays by and watches them get crushed. However, Sonic, Tails, and Twilight decide to put their snowboarding skills to work. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy fly high above while carrying Apple Jack and Pinkie Pie above. Twilight uses telekinesis to hold up Rarity and Spike while she boards down.

King Sombra chases after them and uses dark magic from above to blast the ground, form explosions or spiked crystals that can be used as ramps that actually give the boarders a chance to perform tricks to get good speed boosts as well as fire at Sombra with either projectiles or hitting back his to slow him down and make him wipe-out. When they get to the end, King Sombra tries to rush them from below, but only provides them one last ramp for them to jump off of and over the following mountain in the valley while Sombra himself rams his head into it and vanishes into it.

Sonic: YEAAAAH!!!!!

Tails: ALRIGHT!!!

Twilight: WOOT!!!

Sombra: RAAAAAARGH!!!!! *Crashes into mountain*
