Chapter 2 "The Encounter" (Simona as the Ice Queen ... Gunter's backstory): fav.me/d59ehno

"Enough of this, tomboy! ZAP!"
"No, enough of you Ice Queen! ... HYAAHH!!!"
Yet another outrageous head to head battle was in full blast... Fionna the Adventuress versus the Queen of Ice. Arch rivals at each others throats yet again. Some mishap occurred, the Ice Queen princenapped her favorite prince, Prince Gumball, yet again while leading Fionna on a wild goosechase. By then the prince was safely back in his kingdom, however, the kingdom had been frozen over from the Ice Queen's rage. To get back at the queen for not only princenapping, but leaving months' work of frost damage on the Candy Kingdom, Fionna and the Ice Queen had only one way of settling this: a battle. The battle was intense, the Ice Queen's attacks were powerful and fierce, but the young heroine by now knew most of the Queen's strategies and used them to her advantage. The battle in the Ice Queen's castle went on and on, and Fionna needed to find a way to finally end this.
So, with a hard swing given with all her might, the Adventuress slammed the broad side of her pink crystal sword, smashing it up against the side of the Ice Queen's face, knocking the queen to the ground. The queen's tiara rolled off her head and landed a few feet away when she hit the ground.
"You crazy Ice Queen!" Fionna shouted, stepping closer to the queen, resting her foot on the queen's shoulder. "Causing chaos everyday, from either princenapping, or freezing over kingdoms... why you not quit already?" She tightly gripped onto her crystal sword.
The Ice Queen snarled and raised her hand to zap Fionna with ice lightning, however, the queen's source of power was vacant because her tiara was no longer atop her head. "Curses..." the Queen spat as she exhaustively tried to get up.
Fionna kicked the queen down yet again, knowing the queen was practically helpless without the powers of the tiara, "I'm cutting short your reign Ice Queen..."
Fionna said angrily before raising her sword over her head. The Ice Queen tried to get up yet again, but the hard blow to her head from Fionna's broadsword couldn't make her think straight. Staring up at Fionna's sword and the impending fatal attack, she came to the cold realization that she was in checkmate. When she saw she had no chance of escape, and that her breaths were numbered, the queen closed her eyes, burying her face in her arms, bracing herself for Fionna's killing blow.
"It's all over Ice Queen..." Fionna said hauntingly as her sword came down strongly. A loud clang echoed throughout the ice kingdom and was followed by a deathly silence.
Fionna looked down at the Queen and sighed. "I'm done..." She walked away from the queen and back to her cat, Cake, who was half-frozen and watching the entire scene. With another strike of her sword, Fionna freed Cake from the ice.
Cake looked at the Ice Queen, then back at Fionna.
"You sure you did the right thing honey buns...?" Cake asked quietly, shivering "I had no idea you'd..."
"Sure am Cake..." Fionna replied without emotion, leaving the ice castle with her trusted feline companion. Fionna wasn't sure what to feel after doing what she did, but felt it was her obligation for the sake of Aaa.

Am I... dead...?

The Ice Queen slowly opened eyes and gazed around. She sat up slowly on her hands, feeling a pounding headache and pain on the side of her face. She saw she was on the floor in her ice castle, at the same spot where she last was when she saw Fionna raise her sword to give her the deathblow. But she was still alive.
"Glob, but this headache is so bad it were better off I were dead..." she grumbled, getting up on her knees.
"Gunter!" she shouted to her penguin, but heard nothing "bahh, whatever." She finally stood up and started walking to her room. But she stopped dead in her tracks when she heard a crack under her foot as if she stepped on something. She looked down at her feet and saw her under her foot was her tiara, broken in two.
"urgh!! That tomboy!!" the ice queen growled, clenching her fists in fury. She hastily picked up her tiara from the ground and saw by how the tiara was broken that clearly it was sliced down the middle from Fionna's pink crystal sword.
Amidst the rage and headache, the Queen wondered if she could still use the tiara's powers. She attempted to use an attack, but nothing happened.
"Oh... great..." she moaned, wondering how she will now ever get her powers back.
She meandered down the halls of her castle and walked into her room, going straight for her bed, "I think I'll just sleep on this..."
She plopped on the mattress, staring up at the ceiling.
"Wenk"
She looked to her right and saw Gunter looking at her very concerned.
The Queen broke into a small smile, "Gunter..." She patted the penguin's head, "there you are...."
Before she could say much more, she passed out from complete exhaustion.

The Ice Queen was walking with Gunter along the icy forest when a young woman with dark blond hair in a navy gown ran across her path.
The Ice Queen blinked at the sight, alarmed, "What in the world?" Since she saw the mysterious woman continue running, the Ice Queen decided to run after her.
"Hey! ... Get back here!" the queen shouted while running, but the unknown woman just continued and seemed to be getting both farther and closer in the chase
"Just where do you think you're going??"
Suddenly, everything in her surroundings went completely white and the Ice Queen found herself on the sidelines of a grand theater stage. the Ice Queen stared around the stage in both confusion and awe and saw the mysterious younger woman who she was just chasing in the center of the stage. The woman was looking out at the grandiose audience, giving a spectacular performance or some sort. The Ice Queen stared at the woman and sighed, crossing her arms, just watching.  But something soon caught her eye. The mysterious woman was wearing the tiara, the very same tiara that she was wearing. The Ice Queen continued to stare, something about this woman also seemed unusually familiar, but she couldn't put her finger on it, and so merely shrugged it off and continued watching.
A tall white female figure later appeared from the tiara and loomed behind the young woman. She had with a black dagger made of a strange looking ice in her hand. The woman was completely oblivious to the ghost-like entity with the dagger ready to strike.
The Ice Queen's eyes widened, and she screamed "LOOK OUT!"
But her scream was mute for some unknown reason, and instead the piercing scream of the blond haired woman was heard. The white figure stabbed the young woman in her back over what appeared to be her heart. No blood dripped from the wound and the dagger merely entered the woman, disappearing from sight. The being then grabbed onto the woman by her shoulders and whispered something in her ear. The woman screamed again, crying for help...but no one was there. The audience she was once performing before disappeared, the stage began to blurr and fade away. The Ice Queen was the only witness.
The Ice Queen couldn't believe what she was seeing. It was like a nightmare. Although she was thoroughly confused at what was going on, she had to stop that icy strange female-looking being from murdering that innocent young woman. The Queen tried to run and help the woman, but her feet seemed to be frozen in place. She couldn't move a muscle and was forced to watch on.
The white figure suddenly disappeared into the woman and the woman began shivering, crying out for help and whisper-shouting, "its so cold...!"
Then, before everyone, the young woman aged and physically changed. Her dark blond hair turned white as snow, and her peaches and cream complexion faded to white then changed to a hue of icy blue.
The Ice Queen stared in disbelief "no...."
Everything then began to fade to white and the last the Ice Queen saw of the young woman was her going into a maddened state and running off.
Everything then faded into darkness.
"NO!"
The Ice Queen jumped and shrieked, sitting up, her heart racing. Her eyes darted everywhere, thoroughly alarmed. She was in her room, on her bed.
She saw Gunter beside her, equally alarmed. The Ice Queen patted the penguin on the head trying to calm him as well as herself.
"it... it was all... just... a dream... a nightmare...."
She buried her face in her hands, "a terrible nightmare... glob... who was that young woman...? why... why did she....? -- it was just a dream... glob, I can't fall back asleep.... Is it morning yet...? I... just need to get up and make some coffee...Gunter!"
She rose from the bed, still thinking about the woman. She first walked over to her vanity table for her morning routine and looked into the mirror.
But what she saw in the mirror made her jump.
Her reflection was that of the mysterious woman in her nightmare. Her reflection had the same dark blond hair and sky blue eyes and peaches and cream complexion. The Ice Queen immediately stared at her actual hands and hair, they were the normal light blue and white. When she looked back at the reflection, saw it was her normal reflection again.
She groaned "urgh... I must still be half asleep, I have to wash my face...." So the Queen left to her wash her face and later returned to her bedroom.
"Gunter's not back with my coffee yet? What's taking the penguin so long? ... oh well... Let me see how that tiara's doing.... perhaps from when Fionna broke it... that's what's making me... crazy..? I just dont know anymore..." She sighed and looked up at her nightstand where the tiara was. But her eyes widened, startled, at what she saw.
The drawer that her tiara was in was open. And there, looming over the tiara was the same white female figure she saw in her nightmare.
"Hey!" Ice Queen snapped as she started to storm over, "Just what do you think you' do--"
But she soon stopped dead in her tracks. Something felt odd.
The Ice Queen stared down at herself again, and this time... her skin was the complexion of peaches and cream and her cascading long white locks changed to the color of dark blonde, the same as what she saw in the reflection and in the nightmare of the mysterious woman.
"What....?"
But her attention went back to the stranger and she grabbed the figure by her shoulder. The figure felt freezing cold to the touch and appeared to made entirely of malleable ice. She was almost ghost-like.
"Just what do you think you're doing??" the Ice Queen repeated, threateningly glaring at the entity, forming her free hand into a fist.
"I never wanted this day to come, but I see that I have no choice..." The entity had a woman's voice that the Ice Queen thought sounded almost like her own, but much, much more sinister. The entity had been looking at the tiara the entire time, however, she finally turned to stare at the Ice Queen in the eyes, sending a chill down the queen's spine, which was very unusual for her since she was an  icebeing.
The entity then bared her sharp carnivorous teeth "but I have no choice but to kill you now."
"What?!" The queen snapped back, clenching her fist tighter, "What is this madness?!"
The white entity said nothing, her cold white eyes still death-glaring. She lunged at the Ice Queen and tightly grabbed her throat with one hand. the Ice Queen gasped and gagged for breath, she felt like her neck was being crushed as she tried to fight back, oddly feeling motionless from this entity's unusual strength and truly evil presence. A black dagger made of ice then formed in the being's free hand hand and she raised it up to eye-level.
The Ice Queen's eyes widened and tried to strike the entity, but this entity had such a strong crushing grip around her neck she felt as though she were about to faint. But with what was left of her strength she kicked her knee out at the being in the stomach. Fortunately, it was enough to knock the being to the floor, knocking the dagger from her hand.
Ice Queen grabbed the black ice-dagger from the ground and pierced it by the being's neck, "WHO ARE YOU?!? What do you want from me?? Why are you trying to kill me?? Why do I look like this?? Who is that woman that looks like this?!!?" She surprised herself from the numerous questions she suddenly had.
The ice being smirked, "tsk tsk tsk, so many questions..." her voice was truly evil, and sent chills down the Ice Queen's spine yet again. She raised her palms up and then coldly stared before continuing, "Since I'm going to kill you I might as well tell you... I am the Ice Queen... the real Ice Queen... and you are my host. I have been living off you for centuries, living through you, for you... you have indeed been my perfect host, so it really is a pity now that I have to kill you, but c'est la vie...
Ice Queen couldn't believe her ears. She was some host for this parasite to live off of for all these years? This was the real Ice Queen? "What?? You're the Ice Queen?? What are you--If you've been living your life through me all these years, then who am I??!"
"Like I said, you're my host... I think you used to be some actress or something... I think you wrote your name behind a mirror or something... but... yeah...  one night on one of your performances, one of my minions gave you my crown, you put it on, falling right into my trap, and then in a matter of moments, you became my host to do my bidding."
The two continued at each other. The Ice Queen broke into a sweat asking more questions, but the entity below her continued to heartlessly stare back up at her and nonchalantly vaguely replied.
"Why cant I remember any of that?!" The Ice Queen finally shouted back, so confused, so lost, and so angry; feeling a sudden overload of a whole rush of once-familiar emotions in her ice covered heart.
"How many times do I have to tell you??" The entity coldly glared "Have you not been listening?! I have been controlling you all your life! Your memories are meaningless, and through the tiara I have been making you forget and remember them whenever I please."
"How could you do such a thing to me?! What did I ever do to you!?"
The evil being, who claimed to be the true Ice Queen, scoffed. "You were my perfect host... you didn't need to do anything... besides, how could I give up such an opportunity..?"
"But what about the tiara?"
"All of my powers and the Secrets of Ice are stored in the tiara, it's quite a burden to carry around, for, one has to be its keeper, due to its immense strength... but that keeper shall only be me, for it is my original powers that are stored in there..." The entity paused "... I must admit... I am surprised you've lasted this long... I thought my incredible powers would have killed you off years...decades... centuries ago... but... perhaps not..." she sighed before continuing with a viscous smirk on her face "Nonetheless, I am growing bored of this small talk and now must return to killing you so I can find my next host and return these lands to their former icy glory..."
The winter peace. It was all a lie, an oxymoron. This entity was the parasite, the Evil Ice Queen, who changed Simona's life forever that fateful night.
The entity grabbed the Ice Queen by her throat again with both her icy hands, although still with her back to the ground, her grip was so strongly around the Ice Queen's neck, choking her, crushing her neck once again.
The Ice Queen struggled to fight back, feeling herself grow dizzy and lightheaded as she gagged for breath. Her mind was racing.
A sudden innate strength overcame the Ice Queen. As though something inside her had finally been released. Something that was locked away inside her for a very long time.
"If this madness is all true..." She thought in her mind before finishing her sentence aloud, "I WON'T LET YOU KILL ME TWICE!!!!"
The Ice Queen grunted, using all of the last of her strength to supersede the crushing pain around her neck. She grabbed the black ice dagger with both her hands, yanked it out of the ground and pierced the dagger through the evil Ice Queen's heart.
The evil deity emotionlessly stared at her own dagger through her own heart. She gave the Ice Queen a vicious smirk followed by another chilling death glare before releasing her hands around the queens neck. She and the black ice dagger then turned into a pile of snow that was soon swept away by some breeze from the open window.
The Ice queen gasped for breath, wheezing taking full breaths of the cool air again. She huffed, her frown dipping up into a smirk. Although still confused by it all, when she saw the daybreak, she stood up victoriously, her dark blond hair appearing golden in the morning light peeking from the horizon announcing a new day's beginning.
She took a step forward but suddenly collapsed to the ground and everything faded to black.

The Ice Queen opened her eyes, blinking. She looked around, examining her surroundings. She was back at that same place she woke up the first time. Right after that battle with Fionna.
"But... How...?"
After the encounter with that strange 'real Ice Queen' she remembered she had collapsed in her room. But she was now back in that other room where the fight with Fionna took place. She looked at her hands and hair and saw that they were their normal blue and white pigmentation.
"Oh Icey, your mind must really be playing tricks on you...that tiara..."
She stopped.
"Wait... The tiara!!"
She quickly gazed around the room for her tiara and saw it on the floor not too far from her, smashed to pieces. She crawled over, picked up the pieces and then stood up with the broken tiara chunks of gold and gem in her hands. She still wondered if she could use its powers if she tried again. She took a deep breath, held the pieces in one hand tightly, then extended her free hand to attempt to use her favorite attack, the blizzard blast. Some powdered snow formed in her hand and fell to the ground like sand particles.
"Well..... It's something...." She broke into a small smile and continued to her bedroom. Upon entering, she saw that it was nighttime again and proceeded to sit on the side of her bed. She placed the broken tiara  pieces on her lap and wanted to see if she could reassemble it at least somewhat.
The tiara golden pieces and gem shards felt like pieces to a puzzle as she made a makeshift reassembly of the tiara.  One particular piece of the gem was missing though and there was another piece when no matter which way she tried to place it, she could not find a place for it to fit. She sighed and put the extra piece in a small jewellery box she kept in her nightstand drawer and then placed the box under her mattress for safekeeping. The remaining pieces she placed on her nightstand for her to adhere them come morning.
She curled up on her bed, resting her head on her pillow, and gazed out the large window overlooking her kingdom. The the mountains were peaked with snow and the clear night sky showed the stars in all their glorious sparkle.
Flashbacks from the strange dreamlike experiences she had just had galloped across her mind, that mysterious young blonde woman, that evil entity who claimed to be the real Ice Queen. Her mind was flooded with questions yet again.
"What was that crazy dream...? was it even a dream? Who am I really...? What is my purpose? Is the winter peace just a lie....?  Urg! Why am I having an identity crisis?! ... There are just too many questions... And what are these odd.... emotions...? It's like I can feel things again.... I don't understand.... Why...? What is going on...?"

Who am I...?

The mushroom war has been a faint memory of the past, and an even longer amount of time has elapsed since that fateful night. Perhaps centuries? Perhaps a millenia? But time seemed to be standing still for the Ice Queen, Simona. Over the years, the Evil Ice Queen's cancer spread through her entire mind, and took over her to the point where Simona began to think that the Evil Ice Queen's thoughts and actions were her own. She struggled for so many years to keep her sanity. Two minds were sharing the same body. But the Ice Queen was a crafty one. She brought her virus upon Simona slowly, more and more keeping Simona's good heart and sanity locked away, corrupting and corroding her.
The evil Ice Queen's poison corrupted her to the point she no longer knew who she even was, all she knew was the Ice Queen and that she was on a mission to bring the lands of Aaa to a winter peace. Simona has been long gone, buried away somewhere in her own mind, practically dead. It had been decades, if not centuries since the real Simona even broke free like the time she did when she met Gunter.

But something had happened that night.

The Ice Queen tried to sleep, however she tossed and turned and could not fall asleep for the life of her. There were just so many questions

Who am I...?

After closing her eyes for the nth time trying to even catch a wink, her eyes suddenly snapped open, remembering something from the flashback of that evil ice entity.
"The mirror!"
She immediately sat up and glanced around her room. "But.... Which one.....?" She was about to rise from her bed, but then lied back down and placed her hands on her face, groaning. "What am I? Crazy?"
She chuckled rolling over, "My name... On the back of a mirror? What kind of a trick is this?"
She shrugged the thought off and tried to sleep once again. But the flashback of the evil ice queen saying that possibly her real name was written on the back of a mirror made her sit up again, thinking "But.... What if it is....?"
She stared at the mirrors around her room. Her eyes were then fixed on the large mirror across her bed, the one that she's had for who knows how long.
"No, it can't be." She sighed, "Or...can it...?"
She just had to find out. She immediately rose her from bed, nearly knocking over the lamp on her nightstand and darted over to face the mirror.
She pushed the grand mirror to the side and stared at the wall to see if there was a name carving or anything in like manner.
Nothing.
Her heart sunk, but something inside her was telling her she couldn't stop there. She looked back at the mirror and ran her hand behind it to see if she could feel anything. Still nothing. She finally turned the large mirror around 180 degrees to see if there was anything on the back of the mirror.
The back of the mirror was old and covered in snow dust. She swept her hand across the back of the mirror, sweeping off the snow and powdered ice. But finally, along the bottom center of the mirror, her hand ran across what felt like solid chunks of ice. She went down on her knees to inspect it closer. How the ice was so unevenly over the mirror in that one particular spot made her wonder.
"These are as the remains of an ice attack... As if it were trying to...."
She froze
"Hide something...?"
She got up and darted over to her desk drawer to pull out a letter opener knife and returned to the mirror to commence carefully chipping away at the ice.
Soon after, some carvings that appeared to be letters started to appear under the ice. Truly this ice was covering whatever these letters were. What did they spell out? She felt like an archeologist as she kept chipping away, careful not to disturb what was underneath the ice.
She stopped a moment and stared in disbelief and confusion, wondering, questioning, doubting if this was all some nasty trick or mindgame. But something inside was gnawing away at her that she had to continue to see what was being hidden from her, innately feeling that whatever this was behind the ice could very well be true.
Finally, once all the ice was scraped off, there before her eyes, was a string of letters chiseled into the back of the mirror.
She stared in quiet pensivity, her heart suddenly beating so slowly, her breath uneven, her mouth slightly ajar, verklempt.
She rested her trembling fingertips over the inscribed letters.

"Is... Is this... who.... I am....?”

The letters on the back of the mirror strewn together wrote:

Simona Petrikov

Marshall Lee as a Kid should've been involved just like Marcy did with Simon's Story.
