Winter Solstice

Alas it appears the world is not going to end much to my own disappointing, quite anti-climatic, but nonetheless it is the day of the Winter Solstice which is deserving of celebration and acknowledgement. The Yule tide traditionally was a celebration of the rebirth of the Sun God, often known as the Sun King, and acknowledged as Mithra by many. In these dark days that come upon us, the Sun God would be our guide through the darkness and into the light.

So on this the darkest of days in homage to the Sun God  I have squired this collection of images and other art works depicting the Sun God (or goddess as the case may be)
