Basic Description: Ket is a fierce little thing with long legs and powerful hindquarters. Her pelt is sleek and short, and colored in rich tones of gold and brown. She has some nicely contrasting patches of white on her face, throat, chest, and bum, and a faded collection of fawn spots visible across her hips and rump. Her eyes are dark and miss nothing.

Ket is not an overly beautiful specimin to behold. Her ears are oversized and comically large, her neck lacks the subtle, graceful arch that defines more attractive Fawnlings, and her mane has been chewed and pulled into some kind of windblown mowhawk thing. In addition, she has a bevy of scars on display. Overall, folks would be hard-pressed to label her pretty.

Temperament: Ket is fiercely loyal and dedicated to her herd heart and soul. She has her moments of mental instability, but is stable enough to be a powerful ally. She's a bit of a goof with those who know her best, but is quick to change her tone if something requires a stern hoof (like errant Jeets encroaching on her territory). She's willing to sacrifice it all for her little herd, and more so for her leader and most stalwart friend, Étain.

History
Born into the relative safety of the main herd, Ket's childhood and upbringing were fairly uneventful. Sure, she got teased for her giant ears and ewe-neck, but a swift kick to the teeth usually shut down any outright harrassment. Being born into a herd that valued strength, her fighting prowess soon garnered her some respect and won her a few friends.

Her segue into adulthood was defined by her ever increasing fighting and leadership skills. She had a reasonable choice of consorts during the ruts, though never kept a stag for more than a few seasons, wanting to be judged by her individual strength than by the strength of a pair.

Her third pregnancy brought heartache. She lost the fawn during the late stages of pregnancy due to some sort of infectious bacteria (though the reason was and continues to be a mystery) which resulted in a miscarriage. In addition, the infection spread. Ket became increasingly paranoid, violent, outspoken, and even began claiming to hear the wind whisper to her. The herd at large just assumed she was sick with grief. Over time, her status within the herd diminished. She had gone from a rising star to something to be pitied.

Seeing that her situation - her low status and her ever-growing insanity - was becoming dire, Ket elected to defect from the herd, and seek out one of the smaller splinter groups, where she would be a more valuable asset.

She soon became fast friends with Étain, and Ket came to rely on (and still relies on) her heavily for companionship and support. Their bond and Étain's steady personality helps to ground Ket and has proven over the years to be a key factor in managing her mental instabilities.

The war tested her and the herd she'd come to love, but she came out the other side a stronger individual.
