My Light: Jack FrostXGuardian Reader Chapter IV

Inside the portal, (y/n) felt like she was swirling in midair.

"Whoaaaaaa!!" she shouted while spinning. After a few seconds, she suddenly felt herself hit a carpet on a hard wooden floor.

"Ugh!! Ouch!!" she grunted, getting onto her knees.

"Ah! There she is!!" a deep, Russian accented voice said. (y/n) looked up and her eyes grew big. Before her stood Santa Claus (otherwise known as North), the Sandman, and the Tooth Fairy (well, she hovered). She took a moment to look around, it looked like she was inside a toy workshop. Then she realized she must be in North's workshop.

"Wow, this is amazing," she said.

"Oi! Boys, help the lovely lady to her feet!!" North commanded. The two yetis who had gone to get her gently grabbed one arm and hoisted (y/n) up to her feet.

"Oh, thank you," (y/n) said, trying to be polite.

"Welcome (y/n), it's great to finally meet you face-to-face," North said, walking up to (y/n) and gathering both her small, dainty hands into his two, massive ones, "we are very pleased that you could be here."

"Uhhhhhh . . . . . . uuuuummmm . . . . ." (y/n) cleared her throat, "it's nice to me you too, Mr. North."

"Please please, just call me North da?"

"Oh ok, North." North walked back to the other two myths and introduced them.

"I'm sure you've heard of the Tooth Fairy." At the sound of her name, Tooth flew close to (y/n) with her little fairies right beside her, "Hello (y/n)! Wow, so you're an angel huh? I'm sure your teeth are just as pretty as you are!!"

"My . . . what?"

"Oh let me see, let me see!!" And Tooth stuck her fingers into (y/n)'s mouth, prying it open and admiring (y/n)'s bright, flawless teeth.

"Ah. Ahhhhh!!"

"Oh my!! They're so white and perfect!!"

"Tooth!!" North scolded.

"Oh sorry (y/n)," Tooth said, backing up a little.

"Don't worry about it, it's ok." Two of Tooth's fairies flew close to (y/n)'s face, still trying to see her teeth.

"Girls! You heard North. Give the angel some space," Tooth ordered (she's one to talk, lol), one obeyed, but the other, seeming to have taken a liking to (y/n), sat on her shoulder and nuzzled against her cheek, tickling (y/n) with her feathered face.

"Hehehehe!! Hey, that tickles!" (y/n) said.

"Baby Tooth!!" Tooth called. Baby Tooth gave a sound of disapproval, but flew off (y/n)'s shoulder, but was then stopped when (y/n) cupped her hands over her and held her in her hands.

"It's nice to meet you too," she said with a smile and patted Baby Tooth with a finger. Baby Tooth smiled back and waved her little arm at (y/n) and if to say "thanks" and joined her friends.

"And the Sandman," North continued, but then saw that Sandy had taken a trip to "sleepy town."

"Sandy!!" Sandy's eyes popped open, and he quickly waved and smiled at (y/n), showing that he was delighted to see her. (y/n) waved back.

"Hello Sandy." She looked around the room and noticed something, "Shouldn't the Easter Bunny be here as well?"

"Oh Bunny? He'll be here in a minute." As if on cue, a hole appeared on the ground and Bunny popped out of it.

"G'day mates!" he noticed (y/n), "ah (y/n), I see you got here safe and sound."

"The ride here was a little bumpy, but I'm in one piece. Thank you for your concern Mr. Bunny."

"Hm, very polite aren't you love? Please, just call me Bunny."

"Oh right, thank you Bunny."

"Oi Bunny, where's-" A portal suddenly opened behind (y/n), making her jump back and yelp in surprise. Out of the portal came a red sack and two yetis. The sack was moving and (y/n) heard a voice inside that sounded familiar.

"He's here," North said.

'Who?' (y/n) wondered. She untied the sack and peaked inside, she was met with two, icy blue orbs that she recognized.

"Jack?"

"(y/n)?" She opened the bag wider and stepped aside so Jack could see the guardians.

"Hey there he is! Jack Frost!" North said.

"Wow, you've gotta be kidding me," Jack quietly said, he suddenly felt the two yetis grab him by his arms and pulled him up.

"Hey hey!! Whoa! Put me down." The yetis did so, one of them dusting Jack off.

"Hope the yetis treated you well?" North asked.

"Oh yeah," Jack kicked his staff up to his hands, "I love being shoved into a sack and tossed through a magic portal," he said sarcastically.

"Oh, good, that was my idea." (y/n) couldn't help herself, she had to let out a laugh, "so you've met (y/n) before?"

"Yeah, we ran into eachother a couple of times. Had some fun together." Bunny spoke up, "Wait, you two actually hung out together!?"

"Yes, why? Don't tell me you're jealous."

"Huh? Me, jealous of you? Never mate!" Although a little jealous glint in Bunny's eyes told Jack otherwise.

"Go look somewhere else Bunny," Jack said with a smirk. He wrapped his arm around (y/n)'s waist and pulled her close to him, "She's not your species."

"J-J-Jack?" (y/n) stuttered, her face putting red maple leaves to shame.

"Hey! Mind her space Frostbite!!" Bunny shouted.

"Tch, whatever," Jack said, letting (y/n) go, much to her disappointment, but she didn't let that show.

"Hey, anyone wanna tell me why me and (y/n) are here?" Sandy shot his hand into the air and began to "tell" Jack with his sand, but it was just really a random flash of sandy pictures, and Jack couldn't make out anything.

"Uh, heh, that's not really helping, but thanks little man."

"We didn't do anything wrong, did we?" (y/n) asked, fearful for the answer.

"Heh, we've must've done something really bad to get you four together," Jack said walking around, freezing a passing elf, "are we on the naughty list?"

"HA! 'ON' naughty list? You hold record," North said.

"And don't drag (y/n) down with you!!" Bunny said, catching Jack when he said "we."

"Bunny's right for once ("Hey!!" Bunny said offended.), little (y/n) there," he pointed at her, "holds record for being on nice list."

"Oh, thank you," (y/n) said, feeling a bit proud to have "held the record" for being on the nice list.

"But no matter for you Jack, we overlook it. Now we're wiping clean the slate," North said, wiping the "naughty" tattoo on his arm with his hand for emphasis.

"How come?" Jack asked.

"Ah, good question," Bunny said.

"'How come?' I tell you two how come. Cause now, you two are guardians!!" As the words left North's mouth, two yetis held up torches and many elves emerged, blowing trumpets and banging on drums, parading around the room. Jack had a dumbfounded look on his face, same with (y/n), who stood by his side. Both backed away as Tooth's fairies came flying towards them with some kind of necklaces in their hands, which Jack and (y/n) shook their heads to. The elves then began to parade around the two myths, one of them stepped out and looked up at them, he pointed to their feet and then to two pair of elves, one pair had funny looking, blue shoes for Jack while another had elegant, white sandals for (y/n). Jack just glared down at the elves while (y/n) politely refused the sandals. Another yeti was holding a large book in his hands and presented it to North. As North opened the book, Jack simply had enough of all this and struck the ground with his staff, causing a big wind and the ground around him to be covered in slippery frost, stopping the celebration. (y/n), being the one who was standing closest to him, almost fell over, but unconsciously reached out for Jack and clung to his sweatshirt. After regaining her balance, she removed her hands from his clothing and looked away, blushing.

"What makes you think I wanna be guardian?" Jack asked, sounding a bit pissed. Everyone's eyes were on him, until North laughed out loud.

"Hahahahahahaha!! Of course you do. Music!!" he shouted the last part with a little jump and a snap of his fingers. The elves resumed to play their instruments.

"No music!!" Jack ordered. The elves stopped playing again, one of them threw down his trumpet and shoved another out of the way as
he left.

"This is all very flattering. But you don't want me," Jack said, jumping up onto a desk, "you're all 'hard work', and 'deadlines.' And I'm 'snowballs' and 'fun times'," he plopped himself down on the edge of the desk, "I'm not a guardian. If anyone should be one, it's her," he ended, pointing to (y/n).

"Yeah, that's exactly what I said!" Bunny said.

"Um, this is an honor but," (y/n) looked down at the ground, "I'm with Jack on this one, I don't think I could be much of a guardian." Tooth flew up to both of them, placing a hand on each of their shoulders.

"Jack, (y/n), I don't think you two understand what it is we do," she said. She flew up to the huge globe that was floating in the middle of the room, it had lights all around it. "Each of those lights is a child."

"A child, who believes," North continued, walking up to the three, "and good or bad, naughty or nice, we protect them."

"Ahh! Ahhh!!" was suddenly heard from Jack, Tooth was taking a look at his teeth just like she did with (y/n).

"Tooth, fingers out of mouth," North said.

"Oh sorry, they're beautiful," she said. (y/n) whispered to Jack, "Don't worry, she did that to me as well." Jack quietly chuckled, got off the
desk, and walked around again while North continued to explain things.

"Ok, no more wishy-washy. Pitch is out there doing who-knows-what!!?"

"You mean, the Boogieman?" (y/n) asked.

"Yes!! And when he threatens us, he threatens them as well," he gestured to the globe.

"All the more reason to pick someone more qualified," Jack argued.

"Um, sorry, but I have to agree with Jack. Going up against someone like Boogieman . . . . yeah, you really should pick someone else who has more guts then I do," (y/n) said, now getting a little uncomfortable with this whole "becoming a guardian" idea.

"Pick!!? You think we picked!!?" North let out a chuckle, "no, you two were chosen, like we were all chosen," he held his arm out, pointing it towards the faint moon that was seen from an opening in the roof, "by Man in Moon."

"What?" (y/n) asked.

"Last night (y/n), he chose both Jack and you," Tooth said.

"Maybe Jack, but he defiantly chose you," Bunny stated. Jack and (y/n) looked up to the moon.

"Man in the Moon, he talked to you?" Jack asked.

"You see, you both cannot say 'no.' It is destiny," North said.

"But then, why wouldn't he tell us that himself?" (y/n) asked. Jack just sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.

"After three hundred years this is his answer!? To spend eternity like you guys!?" he said to the four guardians, "cooped up in some hideout thinking of new ways to bribe kids?"

"Uh Jack, isn't that a little harsh?" (y/n) asked, trying to calm Jack down. He ignored her and continued his rant, looking at the moon again.

"No no, that's not for me! No offense."

"How-how-how is that non-offensive?" Bunny suddenly asked, "you know what I think?" he asked the other guardians, "I think we just dodged a bullet. I mean what's this clown know about bringing joy to children anyway? I mean, I understand (y/n) being chosen, but him?" he crouched down to the ground to scratch an itchy part of his face with his foot.

"Oh no Bunny, I really don't bring joy to children, I just help them overcome their fear of the dark. You guys on the other hand, do something that brings joy to them year on end. Even Jack."

"Yeah, you ever heard of a snow day?" Jack asked, following what (y/n) said, "I know it's no hardboiled egg, but kids like what I do."

"But none of them believe in you, do they? You see, you're invisible mate, it's like you don't even exist," Bunny said, not knowing that what he said struck a small arrow at (y/n)'s heart, while Jack held a neutral look. The words may have been directed to jack, but (y/n) felt like they were for her as well. Tooth was able to see the hurt look on (y/n)'s face.

"Bunny! Enough!" she said.

"No, the kangaroo's right."

"The-the what!? What did you just call me? I'm not a kangaroo mate." Bunny was advancing on Jack, with a glare on his face.

"Oh, and this whole time I thought you were. If you're not a kangaroo," he leaned his face forward to look Bunny in the eyes, "what are you?" Bunny did the same, both guys were now seriously face-to-face.

"I'm a bunny, the Easter Bunny. People believe in me." They had a glare off, until (y/n) got into the middle and gently pushed them away
form eachother.

"Boys, please, enough," she said firmly, but not strictly. Jack and Bunny looked at her with a softened expression, but then looked back at eachother with their glares. Sandy saw that (y/n) could use some help, he tugged on North's pants, "telling" him to do something. North already had something in mind.

"Jack. (y/n). Walk with me."
