Hello to all my fellow Rangers out there. I am Ranger Raiji, the Overload Alchemist....and the Editor in Chief for the project.
As many know the first phase of the Joint fanfic project,
"Vic and the Secret Door" has been completed. Now we move onto the second phase, prepping the massive fanfiction to be printed up and then given to Vic as a gift at one of the cons in 2013.
The initial goal is to aim to present it to Vic at Colossalcon 2013 (June 6th-9th), either at the end of one of his panels or possibly at the Ranger Dinner being planned (if he is able to join us). This part is still being figured out. If for some reason, there are snags in the final prep as Colossalcon nears, then the fallback presentation will be at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2013 (September 27th-29th) where it will then be presented either a panel there or the likely Ranger Dinner that will probably take place there (since this con tends to be where a few of the Ranger Mods are present, usually a Dinner is common).
--Another fallback presentation con, with his now confirmed attendance at Otakon, this is a third backup if Colossal is scrapped and it is ready by Otakon.
I am likely either present this to him dressed as Edward Elric, though I am also possibly leaning towards my cosplay of Roy in a miniskirt, just because it would probably be amusing to see Vic's reaction to being given this gift by Roy in a miniskirt...XD
So here is the initial layout of plans to Phase 2. More to added as Phase 2 progresses....

The Package has been delivered!!!! Delivered to Vic on Saturday at his Q&A Panel. Sadly as the line was cut off for questions and such before I could get to him, I hurried and stopped him real quick before he had to go to his autograph signing right after, so I was unable to get any sort of reaction video on it.I would have just went to the autograph session, but I had a shoot to go too after and from what I had heard from a few, they weren't allowing any video at the autograph stuff (at least as I had kept hearing), But the book has been delivered.
I will probably keep tabs over the next few days post Colossal to see if he posts something to his Youtube on it, or will send him a quick e-mail to find out what he has to say and find out what his reaction was to the book.
Meanwhile the prints of the artwork done by Avato-chan that where originally planned to be given with the book will be given to him at Otakon, as to allow Avato to complete the last two pieces without feeling rushed, as since the end of the school year was crazy and set back the work on that side of the project.

PACKAGE HAS SHIPPED!!! THE 1.7LB PRETTY SHOULD, BARRING DELAYS, ACCORDING TO FEDEX SHOULD BE HITTING MY DOORSTEP ON THIS THURSDAY. IS KINDA PRAYING THE FEDEX MAN DROPS BY BEFORE 10:30 AM, SO I CAN BE THE ONE GET THE PACKAGE MYSELF.

Compile all the chapters together in one document, and do a final rough edit.

MEANWHILE, A .PDF FILE WILL BE PUT TOGETHER AND OFFERED UP AS A LINK RANGERS CAN GO TO TO READ THE WHOLE STORY IN ONE PIECE. I WILL ALSO BE REUPLOADING CHAPTERS 13, 16 AND THE RECENTLY VANISHED 27 (RANGERS WHOM HAVE DEACTIVATED THERE DA ACCOUNTS) TO MY OWN ACCOUNT SO THE LINKS IN THE PROJECT JOURNAL AND SPARK NOTES CAN BE UPDATED WITH WORKING LINKS.]
I will leave the formats of each chapter as the owner wrote them more or less, mainly focusing on the rough flow and making sure names, and places and such are properly spelled. I wish each chapter to reflect each member, and by leaving the edits to the most basic should hopefully help with this.
I am aware we are currently missing Chapters 13 and 16, due to the members involved deactivating there accounts. At the time of this initial writing, I am hoping with great luck that when I take my external in for recovery, that the initial file I had on that drive will be recovered (which does have the missing chapters). The plans to take it in to the recovery place is slated for after the first of the year, once I have a few spare bucks to pay for the service. * Fingers Crossed*
Since the last chapters *poof*, I have at least tossed a raw backup of all remaining chapters to my Google Drive cloud. Once can view the raws and any edit files here. It is set up so you can only view, and must have the link below to do so....
By some random act of the Google Drive Gods, I happened to stumble on one of the early edits I tossed on my Drive account to poke at while at work, happened to have the missing chapter 13 and 16 in them....

To seek fellow Rangers (both members and Mods) attending Colossalcon (or the fallback AWA) interested in helping me present the final project to Vic and recording the reaction (if allowed by convention staff) to the presentation of the gift. I will also be making sure to get in touch with fellow staff and others I would need to speak to, so that we can make sure the presenting of the gift is done without too many hassles. So I will likely be working on getting in touch with those I need to do so, to make this presentation goes smoothly.
[CURRENTLY CALLING ALL RANGERS ATTENDING COLOSSAL!!! I AM SEEKING A FEW RANGERS TO HELP ME WITH THE PRESENTATION OF THE GIFT. I KNOW I NEED AT LEAST ONE PERSON TO MAN A VIDEO CAMERA OR SUCH TO RECORD THE REACTION VIDEO. IT WOULD BE HELPFUL IF YOU ACTUALLY HAVE A MINI CAMCORDER OR VIDEO RECORDING DEVICE. I HOPE TO MAYBE HAVE A CHEAP ONE BEFORE COLOSSAL, BUT JUST IN CASE, ONE WHO HAS A MINI-CAM WOULD BE OF HELP.
MY IDEA IF WE CAN GET THE PEOPLE TO DO THIS WOULD BE TO PRESENT IT TO VIC WITH ME AS ROY IN A MINISKIRT. HAVE SOMEONE AS HUGHES BE THE ONE RECORDING (AS I FIGURE IT WOULD BE APPROPRIATE THAT HUGHES IS THE ONE RECORDING THIS).
OF COURSE I WOULD LOVE TO DO A SHORT SORT OF PIECE PRE PRESENTATION IF I CAN FIND RANGERS COSPLAYING AS ED, AL AND RIZA TO PLAY ALONG AT COLOSSAL. THE PLOT IDEA- ROY LOSES A BET AGAINST AL OR ED AND HIS 'PUNISHMENT' IS PRESENTING THE 'TOME' TO VIC IN A MINISKIRT. OF COURSE RIZA (OR ED OR AL) ON HAND AT THE PRESENTATION WOULD BE NICE, AS THEY COULD BE 'MAKING SURE' ROY COMPLETED HIS 'PUNISHMENT' FOR LOSING THE BET.]

Meanwhile, if by some strange chance, the Rangers in question whom's DA accounts where deactivated (higetoboelover and phoenixlight13) are still around (and reading this), but have made new accounts, then PLEASE note me ASAP.
To get in touch with each member involved and see about getting a sample of there signatures, a short message from them and perhaps a quick thought on being involved in the project. I would love to also get each of there Rangers handles and other details (such as webpage or such). I am working on the form at this time. My plan is to compile at the end a short sort of Author's Note or small sort of few extra pages with shout outs from basically everyone who contributed to the project in some way.

To begin talking with a handful of local printer places to find out the estimated cost once I get the base edits done and have a rough idea of the number of pages and size in mind for the book. I am looking at having just the internal section of the book printed and the other main elements such as the cover art and the title artwork. I will also determine the cost for the materials to create the cover and such. Once I have a rough estimate in place, I will likely open up a Kickstarter or similar to allow for donations that will be used to get the project funded. All those who donate something will get a mention in the book as well, so Vic knows who helped bring the book to life.
I will likely come up with something for those who donate. Possibly a printed form of my Alchemist Paper with your name and handle, we'll see.

To print the internal pages and other pieces to prep for binding. As I used to work for a library back in the day when I was still in high school, I learned the basics of the art of book binding and repair. So I will be taking on the final binding of the project myself and bind the final piece together by hand. I feel this will give it a much more special touch then having it machine bound. I think binding in this way will help emphasize the love put into the project, as well as give it a special feel. This is also where part of the plans for the signatures of the authors will be used. My plans are to put all the signatures together on pieces of paper and have it printed out to be the end papers that will make the book look nice before you get to the chapters.
