Making a Snare 2 (Hunger Games)

This is the finished version of a previous drawing. I just wanted to do something quickly but then I couldn't leave it unfinished so now I've spent far to much time on it -_- Still several things I wish that I had done different. What ever.

As the name says this scene is from the Hunger Games, from somewhere at the beginning of the games when Katniss hasn't got her bow yet and makes a snare to capture some animal to eat.

The Hunger Games are quite far from being my favourite books but there is still something haunting about them. After having seen Battle Royal the thought was even more stuck in my head. They make one think about how one self would react in a similar situation. Would one kill other people to save one's own life? Would one value one's own life higher? I like to think that I'm unselfish, that I could sacrifice my own life for that of other people. But in the end? If I was there in such a situation, what would I really do? And it's not only about the Hunger Games or Battle Royal in the end, in the end one's answer to these questions also has importance for how one perceives life in reality, what one really values the most: one's own life or that of others?
