Vidal Collection

Vincent Vidal, the main antagonist of my forever untitled story (sometimes called "Null" for convenience sake). Some of these drawings are OLD. The newest one is the side profile and is pretty much what I currently imagine him to look like. You essentially take Tom Selleck, give him Lee Van Cleef's nose and eyes to give him an air of slyness, and place him in his mid-50s.
Costume-wise, the general idea is that he wears a black and gold breastplate with a long, black, tailcoat-like-thing over it. I like having him with these customised gauntlets and grieves because it gives him a cool way to fight using both his hands/arms and his sword, but I don't think they make sense in the story any more. However, his sword (which is made of a red metal) stays. It's a sort of souvenir or trophy he took during the Conquests and has some backstory to it that is vital. It has 10 "waves" and 9 small holes along the back of the blade, blunt like a samurai sword or sabre.


I don't want to give away any specifics about his backstory because spoilers, but he grew up as a high class lad and spent almost all of his life in the army/on battlefields. As such, he's grown up to be an amazing warrior, a fantastic general and knows his politics. He also has a huge amount of respect from his men and respects them back. He hand picks his battalion and squad captains. However, when it comes to getting his way and war in general, he is not beyond torture, the killing of women and children, and just horribleness in general. He can, if need be, a total monster and doesn't need to think twice about it.
He also loves a good fight and will join the fray of a battle. Anyone who can stand toe-to-toe with him in a sword fight and can match his abilities earns his respect instantly. He embraces violence.
