Every week, we collect and feature the outstanding submissions to our gallery. If you're looking for quality literature to read, start here!

Each item is hand-picked by our admins and presented with a small introduction (we think this makes browsing literature easier). We don't seek perfection: we just choose interesting work and share it for critique, appreciation and encouragement.

It's been a little hectic at the WritersInk HQ this past week, but we've still found some great reads for you this Round-up. We've got slow and meaningful pieces for both poetry and prose lovers, and they're sure to leave an impact. But don't fret if you prefer a faster pace, because our other two features will provide.

This Week's Highlights!

:star:

A Product Label. by Demosthenes-H

A fun little set of instructions on how to fall in love.

One of those poems that you wish you had thought of but didn't. The beauty is in how easy it is to apply different meanings to each of the familiar lines.

Brothers and Tumours by stormsinmidsummer

It's not that I don't want to die. I just want to live.

Most teenagers have to worry about studies and friends. Others have to face the fact that their life is slowly fading away. stormsinmidsummer tells this sad tale with skill, crafting characters that are believable and easy to care about.

desert soul by disrhythmic

A quiet poem, but one with a powerful ambiance.

disrhythmic regularly contributes beautiful poetry to the WritersInk gallery, but this gem especially caught our eye. Let it carefully lead you through its imagery.

From the Archives

We love our old deviations just as much as our new ones. From time to time, we like pull out an old gem that's been lost in the depths of our gallery and feature it in this space.

Children of the Pied Piper by NoOneSpecial75

We all know the story of the Pied Piper, but no one knows what happened to those children once the story ended.

A great piece written in the vein of the oldest of fairytales. Short and to the point, this makes for a good read with a surprising but perhaps not altogether unexpected twist to the classic story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin.
