Questions I have to answer:

1. Who is your favorite fictional character (from any media)?

Probably Ichihara Yuuko from xxxHolic.  I find her to be very fascinating and very influential on my style.  I have always appreciated things that seemed rather divergent.  I have an interest in modern kimono (i.e. kimono from the 20th and 21st centuries) with a particular interest in the Late Taisho/Early Showa period (1920s-early 1940s), but also an interest in historical European clothing (especially the Victorian period).  I also like the Mori Girl style.  I like to study geisha and classical Japanese arts.  I like Art Nouveau and Art Deco, classic American architecture and classic Japanese architecture, both history, fantasy, and the occult, and many other things that don't seemingly fit together.  Somehow, they all fit with Yuuko, and that is what has been so influential about her character to me.

2. What foods do you not like (or like least)?

That one is a little strange.  When food is savory, my tastes are not very picky.  So in that regard, there are very few things I don't like.  I would have to say that for savory food, the two things I really don't like are meatloaf and mashed potatoes.  While I basically just don't like meatloaf, with mashed potatoes it's largely an issue of exhaustion.  Mashed potatoes are my father's favorite side dish, so growing up I would have them about three to four times a week.  While my mother certainly makes good mashed potatoes, by the time I was twelve I had pretty much reached my life quota.  I also don't like vegetables that have been stewed southern style, but that's because I feel mushy, grey vegetables is just bad food... period.

When it comes to sweet food, I am actually incredibly picky!  I don't know why, but when the food is sweet then I feel the texture, taste, and temperature of the food have to be perfectly matched.  There are a lot of sweet things I don't like... like peaches, cantelope, almost all commercial candy, anything gelatinous (which includes both jello, kanten, and most cooked fruits [so no crisps or fruit pies]), and several southern recipes that my mother has made over the years (like baby carrots stewed in brown sugar).  For me, the ideal sweet foods are either moist or fluffy cakes/cupcakes, soft gooey cookies, pudding/mousse/custard, cream pies, frozen yogurt/sorbet/ice cream/gelato, and milkshakes.  I know, it's very limited.

3. What item could you not live without?

Hmmm.... probably the internet.  So, my computer by extension.

4. What five fictional or historical people would you want on your team for doge-ball?

... I'm really NOT good at dodgeball!  Dodgeball was the bane of my middle school existence.  So... probaby no one, as I wouldn't be playing dodgeball... (are you crazy?).

5. Would you rather be stranded in the desert or on an island?

That would depend on which particular desert and which particular island.  I would probably be inclined to say island, since I can swim well, but only if there's an actual chance of me getting off the island and finding rescue.  Otherwise, I would probably take one of the deserts in America (better chance of rescue).

6. If you could have ANY mode or transportation (real or fictional) what would you choose?

I want to have wings!  Otherwise, I want a warp-speed vessel... probably from Star Trek.

7. Who is your favorite historical person?

That's very hard to answer!  I admire many historical people, and they are usually rather obscure.  The people I admire most are those who speak the truth and speak against oppression, ignorance, and dilusion.  This ranges from freedom fighters to scientists and historians.  There really isn't any one person.

8. If you had to change your hair color, what color would you choose?

I think I would go for a sheer white.  I am really fond of my black hair, but I thought that it might be interesting when I'm much older (and greyer) to just switch to a beautiful, clean white.

9. If you could have a chat with a historical or fictional character who would it be?

I would like to have a chat with Sei Shonagon.  She sounds so lively!  There is also Tomoe-Gozen, who must have amazing battle stories.  I would also like to speak to Izumo no Okuni, and see what she thinks about the direction that Kabuki has taken over the last four hundred years.  There's also Tenshou-in, who always struck me as much more interesting then her more famous predecessor Kazu-no-Miya.  On the Western side of things, I always did want to hear Marie Antoinette's story from her own mouth.

10. If you could choose any person as an art teacher (or any subject you prefer: math, language, dance, voice, etc) who would you choose?

I would love to receive lessons in sumie from Sesshu Toyo!

My Questions:
1. What is your greatest interest, your life's passion?
2. What is the most dangerous thing you have ever done (or has ever happened to you)?
3. How old were you when you had your first sip of alcohol and what was it (...and was it legal)?
4. What was your favorite subject in school and why?
5. What do you find most interesting in a person... platonically speaking.
6. Do you read fanfiction?  If so, what kind?
7. If you had to move permanently to another country and live there for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
8. How often do you watch TV, and what are your favorite shows?
9. Have you ever worn the authentic clothing of another culture (one whose clothing is not almost identical to your own), right down to the underwear?
10. What is your favorite scent and why?

haha, I'm so happy to see you responded to my quiz!
I understand the fascination with Ichihara Yuuko; she's an interesting character with such a fabulous wardrobe! A lot of themes and aesthetics of xxxHolic mix the very things that you listed and I think it makes for such rich storyline and artwork. I've thought about cosplaying Yuuko before, but usually just come to the conclusion that I don't want to cosplay her so much as I just want the contents of her wardrobe. (Though I seem to remember that you did quite a lovely cosplay of her once, yes?)
I understand have strange specific food dislikes: I like the taste of tomatoes fine (like in soup) but don't like whole or sliced tomato because of the texture. Weird, right?
I probably am crazy! I actually liked dodge-ball as a kid, although I've never been particularly good at it. It was one of the gym class games I could at least do somewhat okay at. I have good memories of it from elementary school and luckily never had to play during middle school! My college actually has an annual dodge-ball tournament between the classes though which tends to be amusing . . .
I think that completely white hair can look so beautiful on people! You also picked some great historical figures to chat with~
It was really interesting to read your answers; and you yourself gave some really interesting questions!
