Every week, we collect and feature the outstanding submissions to our gallery. If you're looking for quality literature to read, start here!

Each item is hand-picked by our admins and presented with a small introduction (we think this makes browsing literature easier). We don't seek perfection: we just choose interesting work and share it for critique, appreciation and encouragement.

This week we're diving into the depths of thought and memory.

Immerse yourself in a world where television and live media entertainment has become a far more personal experience, then revel in the ecstasies of excess in an ode to Dionysus, before reliving the disturbing flashback of a seemingly normal man.  To end it all we invite you into the private thoughts of a criminal about to commit the act itself.

This Week's Features!

:star:

The New Media by sodacat

Skull visors and programmed actors - the future of live media is a world where technology, programming, and the outlet of media entertainment collide.

This short story follows a day in the life of a work-for-hire programmer in a world where live media has taken an entirely immersive role. sodacat has written an engaging story with some brilliant ideas, fleshing out a future that is perhaps not as far-fetched as some may think.

Dionysus by Rationalist-v-Artist

Intoxication and ecstasy - blurring the line between man becoming art.

A beautifully written poem inspired by the Greek God of excess himself.  Rationalist-v-Artist presents a poem that is visually engaging as well as mentally stimulating.  Expressing  the undulating lines between reality and thought, this poem speaks of creating art and that moment, for some, where the artist himself becomes art.

Flesh and blood by GentlemanAnachronism

You take the time to make supper for your wife and daughter, and that's where it all goes wrong.

Flesh and Blood is a short scene demonstrating an excellent use of both the 2nd person narrative and abrupt changes in tone. GentlemanAnachronism has used the single powerful flashback to break up the seemingly pedestrian event and turn it into something that is far from normal..

Bank Robber by ClockerZero

Robbing a bank takes careful planning and a special type of resolve

ClockerZero presents a brilliant little narrative from the perspective of a bank robber.  The slight excited tension is almost palpable as we prepare to follow this criminal in his actions.
