Poetry of ME

 

Enrique Rafael Alaniz, nicknamed Ricky

 

I try to rhyme with skill and swiftly

 

Speakin' in metaphors, innuendos, and similies

 

I’m here to put these rhymes in the sense by which sound is perceived

 

There’s plenty to know about me

 

I’m of the male persuasion, sixteen

 

Like everyone else, I’ve been through things

 

Some more personal, some more superficial

 

Cryin’ myself to sleep over things with my family

 

Gettin’ indignant over online relations

 

Still workin’ on my maturity

 

I obviously don’t know my future destiny, but I have my vision

 

I also have my ambitions that have yet-to-be

 

Whatever's meant to be is meant to be

 

Sittin’ in my room constantly daydreamin’ and wishin’

 

Fantasies of a pure world, of all types of different cognitions

 

Always on the lookout to avoid uncontrollable conniptions

 

‘Cause like everyone else I get angry, and lose control of my emotions

 

But I’ve never had a choleric disposition

 

My mind state has always been that of a chill position

 

I never try to take myself too seriously

 

Just ask my e-buddies as I know they'll vouch for me

Or the verbal form of the hip hop

 

Sugarhill Gang made it prominent

 

You can also thank the Godfather of this musical medicine

 

This music, somehow mentally healin’

 

This incredible art form somehow stabilizin’

 

No disrespect intended, I mean Gill Scott to the Mr. Heron

 

But don’t be mistaken

 

I’m not a One Trick Pony like Paul Simon

 

I’m interested in far more than just rhymin’

 

I admire all of the arts

 

For this wonderful concept

 

Has many different types of expressions

 

Of a multitude of different aesthetic principles

 

But this style is the way in which I can best relate to

 

Now this is only a taste of what’s in store

 

But don’t worry; I’ll drop some more lines very soon

This was so fun to write. I started on it late, last night. Around midnight I think, while listenin' to Kendrick Lamar's I Am. And I got the original concept, the idea, while listenin' to Blu & Exile's Dancing In The Rain, and Blu's Amnesia instrumental. I thought it'd be fun to play around with my vocabulary and see what similies I could come up with and I gotta admit my Paul Simon reference kinda made me chuckle. :rofl: I think people and even my close online friends will learn a bit more about me through my poetry, than even my own drawings and photographs. How many of y'all actually knew I listened to Paul Simon's One Trick Pony? I'm guessin' not too many. Ha! Anywho, I hope y'all like this. I'm still workin' on my rhyme scheme and this was nothing, uber serious. That's actually why I split the poem in half. One part focusin' more on me just tryin' to see what I could come up with as far as rhymin' up words from my vocab', while the 2nd half I really messed around with. It took me all of 5 minutes to come up with. I'm guessin' that would be considered a freestyle. LOL!

But before I continue to ramble on, don't read this expecting anything super emotional or serious. I may dabble with more emotional poems, but for now I wanted to do something fun while I continue to improve upon my own personal style and rhyme scheme. :)

Oh my this is actually your first poem?!! Mirai Kuriyama (Surprised) [V2] 

This is pretty lighthearted and quite fun to write...it's sort of an limerick and an irregular ode...and well an epic one!

( I've kind of searched it up he he and I found out that there's actually an epic poem XD I don't know if you've seen this before but this one is for young writers~ but I'm not saying that you're old or something Sir! www.youngwriters.co.uk/types-e… ...I'm just kind of thinking that maybe you help write this one? I don't really know Sir since you are a very talented artist. :) )

I would have never expected that your first poem is really lighthearted and fun~!
And you also managed to rhyme ever so quickly and swiftly. 
This poem that you have written is like a sun.
It can light up the world of anyone~! 
And me trying to rhyme while commenting is-done!

Since whenever poems like this I find.
It gives me the inspiration to write.
Even though it's just light.

*clears throat* To really express what I think of this first poem that you have ever written. I really expected for someone like you to write a majestic and very long poem that details about almost everything...... XD Guess I was wrong ha ha :D , like you have said is that this is free style and you have drawn inspiration from music.love my music 

To be honest Sir I already had a draft of a poem that I'm writing and I'm kind of trying to keep it somewhat detailed but I don't think I'm actually making it that detailed, it's really nice to see that your first poem is very lighthearted and fun yet quite descriptive as well and really makes a great start since you introduced yourself through this poem.

I'm actually quite inspired to make something similar to this as my first deviation here on dA he he, I hope you don't mind since I find it actually quite brilliant,since I'm really thankful for your first writing. Bunny Emoji-87 (Thanks) [V5]
