Nature's Twin: Inari

Hey guyss I'm back from the deadd! Last minute entry to join 's contest

The animal is the mystical inari tori (稲荷鳥), a close relative of the hummingbird species. This is a pun on the Japanese words inari torii (稲荷鳥居) they're that red thing you see in Japanese shrines: [link] However, tori in Japanese also means bird. I came up with the idea thinking of "What's the japanese equivalent of a church bird?" hahaha The human equivalent's name is Inari. Creative huh.

Inari is holding that white thing you see priests hold in temples, I think it's for warding off spirits or sth along those lines. Japan nazis kill me if I'm wrong, please. It's supposed to look like the tuft of feathers on the inari tori's chest. The "tail" of her dress (which you can hardly see) is supposed to look like the bird's tail. Also, I did a bad job at it but her "spiky" hair thing is supposed to look like the hummingbird's sharp beak. The clothes are japan-inspired...well because it's a shrine bird XD. Red on her dress is just to symbolize the usual colors of toriis: [link]. Also the writing on the circles on her chest is kind of like this (开) which to me, looks like the shape of a torii.

Anyways, I didn't get much time with linearting so sorry. And the bird was kind of basecolor-only. But I'm kind of satisfied, kinda. PS: I'll start doing Dlogs again starting tomorrow, finally done with work! Thanks guys nm
