Wooooooow, this took forever, and I even did a background...? What's wrong with me? xD I'm a glutton for torturing myself.. Why do I always gotta make everything so complicated lol I bet you couldn't tell but I went a little crazy with textures and brushes *sarcasm*
Long description of my drawing ahead about why I chose some of the little details that could quickly go unnoticed, skip to the next paragraph if you feel like it
This is a scene from the book Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion, which I recently had the pleasure of reading It takes place on page 70, when R puts a daisy in Julie's hair (which I feel had a small symbolic meaning because of something that she does with it later in the book, but I won't spoil!) This is my interpretation of the characters from reading the book, not the movie. R is described from the beginning as wearing a grey dress shirt, red tie, and black slacks. His eyes are described as grey, and his hair isn't really mentioned. Julie is described as having neck-length blond choppy hair, black skinny jeans, and a messenger bag. Her shirt is never described, but I figured it must be short sleeved because R describes her "...faint scars on her wrists and forearms, thin lines too symmetrical to be accidents.” I used this cool veiny texture for R's skin and lotsa blood splatter textures, he kinda looks bruised and beaten too, and I figured his teeth would kinda be a bit red and he'd have red down his chin and all over his lips and his clothing. I'm sure it's quite messy being a zombie xD Tore up his clothes a little too Julie has blood smeared down her cheek and neck because on a few occasions R smeared it on her to cover up her 'life' smell and protect her from the other zombies that might eat her. I gave Julie a Beatles tee because she mentioned the Beatles' music a few times. This scene takes place in a connecting hallway in an airport terminal and it's described as having decorative plants overrunning it, with a pale sunset in the background. I also thought the windows would probably be damaged and there would probably be blood everywhere There might be a city scape in the background too, possibly.
Isaac Marion did a great job making the most unlikely type of character grow on me xD A zombie with a heart The only thing I didn't like about this book was the unnecessary language. There had to be 30+ f-bombs in there and I really really hate that word..
I can't wait to see the movie tomorrow, (lol I'm going by myself cause my mom's too scared) I really hope it's good and the movie doesn't butcher the book like the Twilight movies did to their books xD I love Nicholas Hoult and I feel like he'll do a good job portraying R, he seemed to do pretty well in the commercials
So do you guys like it? If I get a good enough response I'll draw another scene soon, one that takes place towards the end of the book that I'd like to draw

Aw, this is so beautiful... Good work!
Saw the movie today and immediately read the book. Probably the sweetest romance I encountered so far.
