Description

Playing around with tones after watching a bit of feng zhu. Not too many objects being despicted here but I'm still learning about value's and tones and I honestly do not think I understand it as much as I would like too.

A few things to improve upon, if you don't mind:
Use a brush with high opacity, by high I mean maximum. To make soft transitions use a soft edge brush, but keep opacity at max.
Also, there's a neat rule of thumb sometimes called "halfway-to-black". Simply put; the shadow side of an object usually take on the value that's halfway to black from the local value on the grayscale. Eg, if your local value is 4 (I think yellow is four) then the shadow will have a value close to (10+4)/2=7. You can probably find a meatier explanation if you Google it =)
