Too say the least…this was not a good day for the new leader of Treble’n’Bass.

Not.

One.

Bit.

I could say the very least that Forte had not taken the disappearance of his sister Piano well. Nor did he take the liking of knowing that his father, a Lucario by the name of CJ from what I know so far, was put into a coma due to an explosion. From what I recall from that moment, it was a supposed attempt on his life, so I assume in the least that Tao Village is a wee bit of a dangerous place for little ol’ me.

Greetings and salutations everyone, my name is Rita! I’m an old friend of Glisa the Raichu, someone who had taken care of the brother and sister pair for quite some time before they left to become rescuers here in this very place!

I joined this team so that way I could watch over these two but….lately, I guess things have gotten quite and utterly out of hand.

The mission into the forest to apprehend a most vile Zoroark had somehow ended with quite the surprising twist! Certain Pokémon just disappearing, isn’t that crazy? This Zoroark had a Pokémon named Jasmine with her, she was supposed to rejuvenate the forest to make it pip and healthy again.

My, my, it get’s even better though darlings, supposedly everyone was also sent into the past! Another time! If I think about this correctly, Celebi is some sort time travelling Pokémon. The attempt on her life must be what got most of the Pokémon on that mission sent back to who knows where! That flash of light must have been some…well time traveling power!

Even worse however, immediately after the mission, Forte had gotten incredibly ill on our way back to the village and it really hasn’t set him in a good mood as of now, which pretty much leads to the point I’m at right now.

I had gotten Forte wrapped within a nice soft blanket that I could find in the tree house we share with CJ. His partner, Scarlet the Ninetails, had apparently gone missing as well, and his other partner, Kilowatt the Electivire was out attending to some errands, which pretty much left me and Forte alone in the house by ourselves.

The Minun has been very quiet, only occasionally groaning to himself as he sniffled his tiny pink nose.

A most annoyed expression played on his face, featuring baggy, droopy eyes, a runny nose, and a few sparks that flew from his cheeks here and then. When I got near him here and then to check up on his status, I could always feel my own fur being attracted to him. I guess when he got sick, he also had some static cling~!

“So when are you going?” He asked me in a raspy voice, blinking slowly.

“Soon.” I responded, giving him a small look.

I guess I almost forgot to mention that while this whole thing had played out, messages from our friends had some how come up in a little time capsule! Since Forte was too ill to get it on his own ((especially the fact I wouldn’t let him leave in such a condition anyway!)) I had volunteered to retrieve Piano’s message for him. I didn’t doubt for a second that Piano wouldn’t write to her dear little brother, there was possibly no chance that she’s miss such a golden opportunity, I’m sure!

Forte of course grimaced at my response. I’d never seen the lad so down, angry and upset! It was rather out of character for the normally kind and shy Minun.

“It’s nice that you can go and get MY let for me.” He spat, looking to the side as he pulled himself deeper into his blanket. “Ever since I became leader everything’s just been going wrong…it sucks.”

“Now, now Forte.”

I gave him a big cheery smile from where I stood; adjusting my hat to make sure it had a nice and perfect fit.

“No one said being leader was an easy job! Piano chose you for a reason; you have a lot of responsibility. And right now, the most important one of them all is making sure you take care of yourself and get some rest!”

He snorted at me of course, and soon afterward gave a small sigh.

“I just wish I could at least you know…c-come with you. I want to know if Piano wrote something so bad...I want to know if she’s okay.”

I knew how much he worried about his sister. You could practically call him her twin! Besides being the blue one from the pair, Forte and Piano had been stuck together since they were infants. And from what Glisa told me, they’d grown up with only Piano being the one who took care of them both since she was a little girl. There was some love going on between these too, and it was certainly nice to see that they were able to get past one heck of an argument that they had previously!

After I finished adjusting my hat, I turned around to face the exit of the tree house. “You’ll know soon enough once I get it.” I replied. “You stay here and get some rest. I’ll be back momentarily.”

He gave me a small nod, and with that, I headed out the door, heading to the point in which the letters were supposed to be passed out.

------------------------

Dear old Shroomsworth seemed tired after the announcement was made. While I was awaiting patiently for my turn to get at the letters, others…weren’t so passionate about the time it seemed.

Many of the other Pokémon awaiting letters from their loved ones tore into the briefcase without hesitation. In turn, this would be bad for me. Why, what if they ended up taking the wrong letter? Piano’s letter even! I couldn’t waste any time because I had a sick team member at home. I needed to get my letter, and get back immediately, and I guess spend the rest of the dare taking care of him until he was better!

I inched my way through the crowd until I found myself staring into the contents of the briefcase. While others began filing through papers, I began to search for the letter from Piano.

This would be considerably hard taking in the fact that I’ve never actually seen her writing before, so I’d have to rely on looking our for her name under each signature.

Knowing Piano, I was certain She jumped on the chance of writing a little, so if my assumption was correct, she’d probably be the first of many to hand in their letters, meaning hers was probably somewhere near the bottom!

I fished through, making note of every letter I had seen getting pulled out and studied. My eyes danced across each signature I could find, hyping myself up whenever I would see the letter “P” pop up.

As I continued my search, that’s when I spotted her name underneath a drawing that that simply said “Always” in rather messy script.

But there was no time to dilly-dally! I reached for the paper as quick as I could, and eureka I got it! A most joyous and easy victory!

I felt sad for any other soul who got their letters mixed up of course, but my task was complete and it was time for me to head back home! As I turned around to make my leave, I spotted a rather familiar creature standing in the back, arms up and she just seemed to stand there, waiting…. or many confused as to what it was she was supposed to do, I couldn’t really tell!

She was a blue Zangoose that stood taller than I, and she sported a rather nice pair of Krokogoggles on her head…. who was she again...I know I knew her…Ah yes!!

“Miss Samantha!” I called to her.

It seemed to catch her attention as her eyes peered at me, her ears lifting up as she seemed to grimace at her own name it seemed.

“Sammy.” She corrected me as I neared her. “I see you got a letter from the twerp then?” She asked, noticing the paper in my mouth.

I replied with a nod, tilting my head at the larger being before me. “I assume you have yet to retrieve yours?” I asked her.

“Well uh…no, I haven’t. I actually just kind of got here actually…I caught word of the whole letter thing kinda late so…”

She looked ahead again at the Pokémon going back and forth between their letters. Some now leaving rather nice and content with what they received. Sure enough, I was correct about her not knowing what to do.

“Do I just…go up there?” she asked me. “It should be in there right?”

“Why yes of course Sammy! Come on! We’ll even get it together!” I answered cheerful, running around her while hopping onto her back. She didn’t seem to like that as she immediately tried to shake me off, but she cooled off and simply went on to the brief case.

We spent maybe a good five minutes or so searching for something from her partner…. but it turned up rather well…not good. We found nothing.

She lowered her ears, a little disappointed that she didn’t get anything. I pat her head, trying to comfort her. “Don’t worry.” I said confidently. “Maybe it was taken by someone else by mistake. I’d be happy to give a hand and help you look.”

But she simply shook her head. “It’s okay.” She said, standing up. “He can’t write, but I’m sure he’s fine…he can take care of himself so…”

“Nonsense!” I exclaimed, and that seemed to catch her fur on end. “After I drop off this letter to Forte, you and I are going letter hunting! I know for a fact your partner would so much as leave you to worry! Now come along, we’ll just head back and search the whole town!”

She blinked at me, and silently nodded. I guess she really wanted to find out if she was sent something or not, I could see it in her eyes. So with that, we made our trek back home!
----------------------------

It took us a while to get back to the tree house where Forte was supposed to be resting. Sammy followed along behind me as we both entered, Samantha closing the door behind us.

“Forte, I have mail for yooooou~” I sang.

I expected an excited squeak…but got nothing. He must have been sound asleep!

So while Sammy stayed by the door waiting for me, I decided I’d just leave the letter on the bed for him to read for later when he woke up.

However, once I made my way to the room, I let out what was possibly the biggest shriek in my whole life, which made Sammy quickly jump into the room.

“What’s going on?!” She shouted.

There, right on the tippy top f Forte’s head…. was a Joltik.

And it appeared to be making a feast off of his electricity…
