The Council - Alain Miden
A mercenary-for-hire in the Grey Wastes. Friendly rival of Ciel, working for the same team of Diggers, the Sandscryers. His weapon of choice is a horrendously inaccurately drawn bow. Alain and Ciel are constantly in competition over who is the better fighter and although Alain is by far the superior marksman, he humours Ciel to keep him happy. Alain is Field-sensitive and is therefore able to detect changes in the Ether and influence nearby Ether Fields, unlike Ciel who is Field-touched: One who has a personal Field with control of all its Ether. Together, the pair are quite the formidable duo.
