VISIONARY ASSASSINS GUILD RULES & POLICIES February 2013

:star: there will be an overall tightening of standards in the group to ensure that we focus on showcasing higher quality pieces. we hope you appreciate efforts to make this group a hub of quality Assassin's Creed Fan Art :star:

:bulletblack:How To Join
To become a participating member, simply click the "Join this group" button! THE LIBERATION OF DEVIANTART HAS BEGUN.

:bulletblack:Submissions

:bulletblue: All submissions will be reviewed by the Guild Masters. If for some reason your submission is not accepted, it just means that the particular deviation is not a good fit for us. If you have any questions about why a submission was declined, you will likely find the answer below. If you don't, please feel free to ask!  If you do have any further questions about why your piece was declined please feel free to send us a note or comment directly on the submission process to keep things more private.  We will try to be as fair as possible with our explanation but be ready for a critique. Thanks for your consideration in advance!

:bulletblue: Guild members can submit the following types of works:
  a) your own works to the appropriate Members Gallery folder.
  b) contest entries to the current contest gallery folder.
  c) other deviants (non-members) works to the guild favorites. guild favorites will always be accepted

:bulletblue: To submit art or writing, please use either the 'contribute art' link in the blue banner on our profile page for your own works or 'suggest to favorites' for non-members works.

:bulletblue: Members can upload a maximum of 2 deviations a week.

:bulletblue: OC characters are only allowed if they are not the main focus of the work (i.e. they are in the background). At least one canon AC character must be the clear focus whether the work is written or visual art. We cannot post works written from the perspective of an OC.

:bulletblue: Photomanipulations are not allowed. Game screenshots, motivationals, lightly edited or unedited game art will not be added to the guild gallery. For info on DA's policy regarding wallpapers and why we have to decline most of them please see this article: kasumichan2003.deviantart.com/…

:bulletblue: The guild does not tolerate art theft. If you did not make it and/or don't have permission to use it, do not submit it. If you try to submit a deviation which is not your own work you will be banned from the group. If you suspect a piece in the gallery of being stolen art please note us and we will investigate.

:bulletblue: We are now accepting cosplays but please be aware we will only be accepting 1 photo per costume and we will not accept works in progress.  All of the usual rules apply to cosplay photos as well. So no OCs. The photos should be clear and professional looking. (I'd rather not burden everyone with 50 pictures of convention photos. I know they're fun but we'd like to focus more on the showcase of craftsmanship rather than some personal memories of yours at your conventions.)

Reasons submissions are declined:
Deviations that would be better suited for members' personal galleries or other clubs include:
:bulletblack: tutorials, essays and other non-fiction works
:bulletblack: works in progress/unfinished art/works on notebook paper
 :bulletblack: web-generated art
 :bulletblack: photos of figurines
:bulletblack: artwork or writings that don't feature a canon AC universe character (i.e., OCs)
:bulletblack: anything graphic not censored with proper consideration of the DA maturity filters
:bulletblack: Recolors of original artwork already in our gallery
:bulletblack: make sure that any traditional art is well photographed
 :bulletblack: OC

:bulletred: Submissions will be judged based on: :bulletred:
:star:success of the piece
how well the artist achieved what we think they were trying to achieve
:star:cleanness
cleanness of lines, erasing construction draft lines,
:star:improvement and effort (comparatively with other pieces in your gallery)
if your piece is on the border, we will browse your gallery to compare improvement and effort
:star:understanding of light, color, composition and line
using all of your artistic freedom to utilize line weight, light source, limited pallet, texture, cropping, etc.

Please note that the Guild Masters have the right to decline any submissions due to mature subject matter and this will be in accordance to deviantArt rules and regulations or was accidentally accepted. You can learn more from the following article "What is Mature Content?" Any mature rated submissions to the gallery will be clearly marked as “mature.” Submissions of any works containing pornographic material and/or hateful imagery will not be tolerated and subject to permanent banishment from the guild. Also please note that that the guild does NOT wish to affiliate ourselves with any members and/or affiliates who support hateful material or any relation of the sort.

If you do have any further questions about why your piece was declined please feel free to send us a note or comment directly on the submission process to keep things more private.

SAFETY AND PEACE, :iconlalafoxtrot:

Wow, great rules! I hate it when a group lets all the submissions in and my feed gets clogged with pencil drawings or OC fanfiction. Kudos!!
