Puella Magi Persona Magica

So...I'm very VERY happy with how this turned out. I mean...seriously. it looks fucking epic.

This is the first time I've done a group picture in a looooong time, so I had to use a couple of bases. But please keep in mind. Bases are only poses. I'll link the bases I can find that I used at the bottom.

So recently I've been obsessed with Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Really obsessed. I loved it, even if my favorite character _{diesinthefirstthreeepisodes}. So...I made my persona's magical girls.

This piece started out as just...that. My persona's Erika and Kie....as Puella Magi. Then...I was like....well...what do they look like normally? So I enlarged the canvas....and drew them in the school uniforms. (yes, I know the bows are supposed to be the same color as the blouse, there are quite a few mistakes in this, so cut me some slack. most of it was drawn from memory, and I didn't have a good reference of the back of the uniform) Then....I felt like it was missing something. So...I decided to draw the other four behind THAT. enlarging canvas again, and doodled that in. I decided to put Kyuubee down at their feet..cuz...yeah. And I knew, ifI drew the others, I had to draw Madoka (I know her wings are weird. That's how I decided to draw them.) Finally the canvas was the size it is now.

So I got all that drawn, colored, and shaded. then I had to come up with a background. I had the idea of them standing on water from a picture I had seen before (not even Madoka related) and wanted to try that. While working with the water, I had the thought: lets put in reflections of the group! You'll get brownie points if you can guess the reflections (though Sayaka's is obvious)

As for the sky background behind madoka. She's a goddess...universe just seemed to fit. I know it's not the best universe, but it's my first....try at something like that.

All in all, I'm really proud at how this turned out. I mean...when I started, I had no idea it would turn into this.

SideNote: I have not come up with what Erika would have wished for to become a Puella Magi, but I did come up with Kie's. Kie's is very similar in nature to Homura's, which was protection. Also, for their weapons. Erika would either weild a katana or whip, and her basis would be electricity, while Kie's is a crossbow, basis of pencil drawings
