Brain Decay

"Brain Decay" is my latest photo manipulation, which yet again tells the story of a woman abused (serious abuse like rape) by her male spouse and her taking revenge against him. The woman is an artist that has had history of men abusing and so being the artist and extremely creative, she uses the parts of these men to create her work. She is a wax sculptor at heart, and so she creates large candle waxes and places the hearts of these men in the middle of the candles. The melting of the candles over the hearts represents how these men caused her to melt (metaphorically) from their beauty. The reason why she placed the hearts in candles was so that she could represent the fact her and these men had a burning sexual passion for one another. But that was it. However, every candle reaches it's end and so the woman placed the hearts in the middle of the candle to act as a "timeline" of her and a man's relationship. The relationships would start off fine and usually near the middle of the relationship the man begins to abuse her and so the candle will burn away the heart as she burned bridges with the men by killing them as a revenge for the abuse.

The portrait of her in the middle is decayed near the forehead which is done by the woman. She removes pieces of the brains of these men and places them inside a painting, starting from the middle of the forehead. She would extend the surface area of the brain matter covering the portrait the more men she meets her life that abuse her. If enough men abuse on her, the whole portrait could eventually be covered in brain matter.

Put it together, a woman (as represented in the mirror on the left) is separated by false love (the "artwork" in the middle) from her male spouse (as represented by his disembodied head hanging on the wall on the right). And for every time this happens, her minds deteriorates more and more from the abuse she receives.
