Background

Soon after she was apprenticed under a warrior by the name of Raventail, her father went missing on a hunting patrol and was presumed to be dead. Frigidpaw, distraught, refused to accept the idea, and would sometimes steal away to search for him, always to no avail and often returning to reprimands, as it was strictly against the rules to go out alone. After almost a season of fruitless searching, she was forced to give up and admit that her father was gone, turning her focus to her training. Raventail pushed her hard, helping her to catch up on the skills that she had been slacking in the past few moons. Because of her neglect to both training and social matters, Frigidpaw was not very close to any of her fellow apprentices, and Raventail became the closest friend that she had. It was not long, however, before Raventail perished upon being swept over the Great Falls, leaving her feeling very much alone. Because of leadership complications – what with Ripplestar disappearing and Lavenderstar taking his place – Frigidpaw was not given another mentor for a half-moon, but when the new cat was assigned at last, it was to Frigidpaw the best decision that could have been made. Deepshade, a warrior who had also experienced great loss in her life, became not only mentor but like a mother to Frigidpaw. Even thought it was clear that her warrior ceremony would be much later than expected, she did not mind as long as she could train with Deepshade. During this time, Frigidpaw also developed a tight bond with an apprentice named Fishpaw. Fishpaw was the only apprentice older than herself, and the two became close friends. Frigidpaw was always warming the short-haired tom with her long, silky fur, and it became a joke between the two that he should have been the one named Frigidpaw. She often seemed to be getting her rather clumsy friend out of a pickle.

When the two were at last made warriors together, they began to spend even more time with one another. It was obvious to anyone that the two were in love, but neither seemed to be able to admit it to the other. Then suddenly, the tremors hit. Quakes devastated the Clans, wrecking the territory; trees were felled, sinkholes and pits littered TideClan. During one of their races, Fishbone tripped into one of the sinkholes, and to their terror, could not escape the deep, unsteady pit. Frigidnight realized in that moment that she was willing to jump in and die with him, and both confessed their feelings. With this last motivation, Fishbone made a final, desperate leap, and escaped what was nearly his death.

The two have since become mates, and are expecting a litter of kits.
