Hydrings:

Skin color:

As humans, they have many different skin colors, just like regular humans. But as Hydrings, they all have grey skin, and a few can have a lighter or darker hue. But when they become ill, they receive either a pastel green color, or a lighter grey. It depends on what sort of illness they receive.

Some of them have more visible green, the shade depends slightly on how ill they are.

They have crystals all over their body which accounts for clothing, most of them have hair-shaped skin, while the rest have normal hair, they're usually a color that is not natural to us humans though.

They have also human and half-human forms, this is what half-/humans see when they look at a Hydring.

Height:

It can variate. They're often above the average height, but some can be average, or even lower than average height. For example: When Cazcade was 17 years old, he was 173cm (about 5'7ft) tall. That's an average height for a teenage Hydring. Wave, Caz' father is 201cm tall (6'6) and is considered to be well above average height. River, Caz' mother is 171cm (5'6) tall, which is well under average. The average height of a Hydring in their 20-30s would be around 188cm (6'2), which is the height Aqua, Caz' sister, would have been if she made it to her 20s.

Eyes:

Their left eyes are often a greenish yellow, but it can happen that some have different colored eyes, that is very rare though. Their right eye is actually a blue crystal that sounds like a marble when you tap it. Sometimes the blue crystal can be on the left side instead, Drop, Caz' sister, has her crystal eye on the left, and her yellow eye on the right.

Clothing/Anatomy:

Instead of clothes, they have all these crystals on their bodies that glow in the dark, as well as give out heat. In human form, the crystals are actual clothes. In human form, they always wear gloves. The majority of men wear tight clothing, while the majority of women can be seen wearing more layers and "proper" clothing. Hydrings can also have clothing-shaped skin, but that is very rare. It is more common for land Hydrings to human normal clothing, and common for underwater Hydrings to stick with the crystals, but some Hydrings choose to wear human clothing too.

At the end of their bangs, they have two crystals attached to them, the males' crystals are a bit more elongated, while the female's crystals are more rounded. The crystals are used for mating, but only if you're gonna create a baby. They have 4 fingers and toes, the two middle toes are attached to each other, no one really knows why. They have fins between their toes and fingers, and when they're around cold air, they become weaker and grow gills so they can breathe easier. Their body becomes automatically weaker when that happens, but since they're often strong, they might get just a little weaker than the average person.

Offsprings appearance:

They resemble tadpoles with big adorable round black eyes. They have maybe 2 or 3 small crystals on their body, depending on their size. This is the one time Hydrings can permanently die from lethal hits since they don't have the crystal eye yet. The blue crystal-eye tells the parents when their time has been set, so they have to be extra careful with their babies until then. But the tadpoles stay like that for around a week, they then grow into the physical age of 4

This is as well the only time a human will be able to see a Hydring in its true form. Once they've seen a tadpole, they will see all Hydrings in their original forms. Showing a person picture of a tadpole will do the same effect.

Colour of blood:

Their blood is red, but if they get touched by some sort of toxic, it could color their blood into magenta.

It only lasts for a certain amount of time, and despite making them weaker, they don't die from it.

Brief description of Hydrings:

Hydrings are sea creatures that live underwater, thousands of them live up on the surface though. They can control all sort of liquids, as well as giving it its own life. Hydrings (mostly women) Have hair-shaped skin, while the others (mostly males) have normal hair, and they all have bang-shaped skin.

Powers:

They can control all liquids, as well as freeze it.

if they shape the water to the form of a living creature, they can actually make it come to life, but each creation only last for a few minutes.

They can turn into survival mode, but that is only when Hydrogia is being ambushed.

They are in a way immortal, but not eternally so. Hydrings are capable of dying, but they easily come back after a few minutes. But they do die once they turn their physical age.

Social

They can be very social, as well as kind and caring. The majority of Hydrings are commonly very sweet and kind, but there are some mischievous souls out there, but every single Hydring is kind and open-minded.

Territorial:

They're very territorial to trespassers. But they gladly welcome humans and creatures that are invited by one of their own, since they know that they're to trust. But the kingdom has some difficulties in bringing guests since if they turn into survival mode, they could harm the wrong people. They also dislike inviting people, because there's a chance that the things they see will scar them for eternity. This has happened before, so it is rare for someone to get invited.

They're mostly in their hometown underwater, and they all stick together. But the ones on the surface usually are with another Hydring. The ones that aren't are more independent of themselves, but they mostly stick together with family and partners.

Behaviour

They're usually very energetic, friendly, good-hearted, passive, and can be very mature. While some others can seem like a friendly but mischievous kind of person, they're still sweethearts.

If they hear or see something that makes them very emotional (either positively or negatively), they can act like the age they truly are. For example: When Cazcade was 17 years old in body and mind, but 8 years old biologically, he would cry and weep like a little child, or jump around and be cheery like one. It's barely noticeable in adult Hydrings, but you can see it well in child/teenage Hydrings.

They accept everyone, just as long as they're friendly and trustworthy.
They're often cautious when around humans and when talking to them, due to their most common predators being humans.

Neighbors:

Their neighbors are all water creatures humans call a myth. Mermaids, water nymphs, undiscovered fish species, and more.

Food cycle:

They don't have to eat that much, maybe once every few weeks or so. They like to go to the surface to get something good, like pastries and fast food. But if they live at the surface, they usually eat regular food on a daily basis. They do not need anything healthy, they just need something to get rid of the hunger. That does not mean they're able to eat rotten food.
Well..technically they can if they're fine with vomiting later on.

Intelligence:

Some are very intelligent, while most of them are average in knowing things. But they're very smart in tactics and out on the field.

Languages:

Their main languages are Japanese and English, due to them living in the exact center of these two countries. But some of them are taught to know every language. Every single Hydring has a "twin voice", famous celebrities or famous people often become a Hydring's twin voice.
What happens that makes a Hydring receive a twin voice, is that the foster copies different non-Hydring voices, and when the foster grows up, the child will receive those voices.
For example, Wave's mother was quite the fan of Nickelback, and often went to their concerts even while pregnant. The foster managed to copy the voice of an adult, a teenager, and a child, the adult being Chad Kroeger.

They sometimes joke around with their voices.

Example: Cazcade's twin voice is Amatsuki. He can sing like Amatsuki almost to 100%.
Wave's twin voice is Chad Kroeger, the singer of Nickelback.
Chad has a lighter voice when he speaks, and a darker one when he sings. But Wave's voice is still near the same dark tone, whether he sings or talks.

Strength:

They are very fast, very agile, and they are very strong. They train their skills in almost everything everyday at home.
Automatically, they can be as strong as the average human, but since they usually train hardcore, they become way stronger.

A lot of Hydrings that move to the surface still work out in their own homes.

Some do it only a few times a week, a few do it a couple of times a month, and the rest do it each and every day.

Wave (the king) works out every day, and he is the official "coach" of their home. There is never a Hydring that doesn't work out.

Cazcade (the prince) works out every day, sometimes at his homeplace with his dad, and sometimes at the surface on his own.

River (the queen) works out a couple of times a week, but she's still damn strong.

Aqua (the princess) only works out about a day a month, so she is one of the weakest, but still slightly stronger than the average human.

Habitat

Home:

Their hometown is Hydrogia that's at the bottom of the pacific ocean, between Japan and The United States.

They live either underwater, or scattered in all sort of countries around the globe. But they mostly spend their lives at US or Japan, so they can be close to their original home.

Environment:

Tropical ocean. Our bottom of the ocean, is actually their rooftop. You will only see sand, corals, and darkness when you reach the bottom. But if you manage to dig through all that sand, you will find ice. If you manage to drill a hole into the ice, you will see that there is an entire city at the actual bottom.

Top predators:

Bad monsters and humans that lust for money and fame.

Lifespan:

They grow really fast, but stop aging at a certain physical age. Once they turn the age they look like, they die.

Example: When Cazcade was 8 years old, he stopped growing at the physical age of 17. His parents found out the exact physical age, by looking at his crystal eye. A foster is a tadpole, and has no crystal eye, when the tadpole receives a human-like form, they also receive their crystal eye, and the parents are capable of seeing the year they die inside the crystal.

When River turned 13 years old, she stopped growing at the physical age of 25, and Wave stopped growing at the physical age of 37, when he turned 22.

When maturity occurs:

They could mature when only a few years old. It depends on how fast they grow, and at what physical age they stop.

The longest time a Hydring has ever lived was to 120 years, but they could barely do anything their whole life. They had the physical body of a 120-year old person, and were too weak to even walk.

Reproduction

They can give birth to two at a time. They take their bangs, and intertwine them with each other like the way snakes do when mating. When the crystals hanging from the bangs touch, the female's crystals glow, and one or two fosters appear inside the crystal/s.

How to attract a mate:

Pretty much like any other human, you either search for one or stumble upon. But if you're a royal Hydring, then there will be arrangements made by your parents.

Here's an example for a royal Hydring: Wave and River (king and queen) met each other when they were young through a meeting arrangement made by their parents. If they didn't like each other, that other family would just leave saying a friendly goodbye. But if the two people felt love towards one another, they would agree on marrying. Wave was the physical age of 17 while River was the physical age of 12.

(Btw, River was the princess, and Wave was just a regular citizen.)

Certain rules for marriage arrangements:

Both parties must have their deaths set at age 19 or above, otherwise it won't happen. They do not accept Hydrings giving birth at a young age, as well as they, are actually incapable of making a child at that age. Unfortunately, they never had any meeting arrangements for Aqua nor Cazcade, since their deaths were set at under 18. Which is why River and Wave mated once more, so that they could have a child old enough to take over the throne, even if just for a couple of years.

Differences between male and female:

Women are the powerful ones and the most important ones as well. For Example: River is the queen that everyone respects, love, admire and protect. While they all feel the same for the king, he's kind of like the queen's bodyguard, as well as the husband of course. And their children are the same, Cazcade is Aqua's bodyguard, as well as he's her brother.

All females (even the transgendered ones) have crystals on their foreheads because it symbolizes that they're all equally important, no matter in what position they are.

It's rare that there are nonbinary Hydrings, but they exist, and some of them have crystals on their foreheads too.

Survival mode:

Appearance:

When they turn into survival mode, they become someone else entirely, and they have similar names. They can either have an existing name, an existing word, or just the same name with a different or removed letter.
Example: Caz - Craz, Wave - Waver, River - Ivery.
They grow claws on both hands and feet, all of their teeth become razor sharp, their eyes become different, and they just look creepy.

Eyes:

In survival mode they look very different. In survival mode, both of their eyes are yellow and with black pupils. The blue crystal turns into an actual eye, and has a black cornea.

Hydrings turn into survival mode whenever a large group of creatures/humans tries to harm Hydrogia. The ones on the surface have to either run as far as possible away from humans, or lock themselves in an unbreakable room to prevent ending innocent lives.

Powers:

They have the same powers as Hydrings, but more strength, and 100% immortality.
In survival mode, they become fully immortal. Decapitate their head, and they'll use it as a dodgeball to kill you.

When they're tadpoles, they don't have a second soul yet. The day they receive their crystal eye, is the day the survival mode is "born".

Behavior/personality:

Their survival modes are aggressive, bloodthirsty, evil and merciless. Most of the adults can actually control themselves and be able to spare the lives of the innocent. But if they give you a chance to flee, for the love of god, run and don't look back.
Despite a lot of them being able to control themselves, they still want to kill you so badly, and they can change their mind quickly.

Feelings towards humans:

Hatred, disgust, but at the same time, they lust for them. They like human flesh, it has a special taste to it. But they're not picky, they eat almost anything, they respect regular animals though, and let them be.

Feelings towards Hydrings:
A fitting song to describe the survival modes is Super Psycho Love made by Simon Curtis. Almost every single Survival mode is in love with their respective Hydring. Craz is in love Caz, Waver is in love with Wave, Ivery is in love with River, and Chacqra has a crush on Aqua.
They're all quite the Yandere type.

A  big thanks for dong this, I've been looking for something like this to help me create my own custom race for SW and I found this very interesting to read, I think I only skimmed over the original one, but it was very informative on the Hydrings!
