This illustration is from my Kickstarter project to create drawings of all of the inimical nonhumans and sea creatures from Professor M.A.R. Barker's wonderful Tékumel (aka Empire of the Petal Throne) role-playing world setting.
"These monstrous, sinewy creatures have 20 steel-hard tentacles with which they seize their victims. The Akhó has one glaring red eye set atop a cucumber-shaped body, and beneath this lies its huge maw, filled with leafy membranous material which eats away a victim with a kind of acid secretion. This creature attacks the hull of a ship 60 percent of the time, and 40 percent is the chance of its trying to snatch defending beings from the ship's decks with its tentacles."

Wow. That beast looks like it'd do more to ships than just...embrace them. What's the size of this thing anyway? Pirates of The Carribean-Kraken sized? Smaller? Larger?
