Description

Freddie just got 6 months old a week ago. The little kitty I once bottle fed, so small that couldn't even fill my hand, so fragile that we were constantly at the vet, is finally a perfectly healthy and happy cat. I feel a mixture of pride,  happiness, and a bit of sadness that Freddie is no longer a baby. Thank you everyone for asking how Freddie is and wishing us the best :) here you can see that Freddie is growing perfectly!

I like to say that cats never let you get bored, they always find the most creative and incredible ways to turn your world upside down, no matter how long you've lived with cats. After 12 cats, Freddie still found a way to leave us scratching our heads, with empty stares, and wondering HOW DID THAT HAPPEN. It even left the vet in shock. It all began a month ago, when it was Freddie's turn to get neutered, we left Freddie at the vet and came back home to wait and eat something. He called us after just half an hour, I picked up the phone shaking thinking that something went wrong with the surgery or the anesthesia, praying nothing bad happened... and then he gave us the news, clearly shocked: Freddie is a girl.

HOW DID THAT HAPPEN!!?? When we found Freddie the vet checked and said she was a boy. I read many guides that said that telling the sex of a kitty under 3-4 weeks old is very difficult, I checked with every guide I found (like this) and all of them said boy. I checked again after Freddie was bigger, again after her fur grew completely, and again after she was 2 months old. I always saw a boy. Freddie got sick many times and she was treated by the vet, his wife (also a vet) and their intern, none of them ever noticed anything. Even now I still see a boy, but I know she's a girl  (I won't go into much detail, but telling the sex of a cat isn't as obvious as a dog's, google it there's a lot of articles about it).

So Freddie had to be spayed instead, and weeks after the surgery the vet and his wife kept talking about it, wondering what happened  I decided to take it as good news, made pink cupcakes to celebrate and wrote "It's a girl!!" on them. They were delicious  My brother suggested changing her name to Frida, but Freddie chose her name and I will respect that. Freddie fits her so beautifully  and she always comes when I call her. Speaking of her name, while she was recovering from the surgery I started singing I Want to Break Free to her, she wanted to stay on my lap and it seemed like the perfect lullaby for that situation :lmao: (you'll have to see the video to understand that  oh Freddie Mercury, how I miss you).

So that's how Freddie has been lately, looking at her fills  me with pride and happiness. Thank you to all her deviantART aunties and uncles for all the nice comments and good wishes, and thank you to all the people that have shared their animal rescue stories  if you ever find a little one and doubt helping them, remember this photo of Freddie and all the happiness in my posts, they will love you like no one else :) it will be the best decision you'll make.

Also, wooooooooo best cat pics I've taken, ever  getting a bit better, little by little. Thanks to ^Kaz-D for putting this guide together, check it out: [link]
