he day has finally come to announce the winners of Draw my Bunny Mascot Contest I held from January to March 2013! But first, I want to apologize for having you all wait this long.

For some reason, Deviantart won't let me "checkout" the I bought and it's just today that I'm able to give them to you. Also, I thought I was gonna be home earlier to make this announcement but my friends and I had so much fun that we decided to extend our stay for a few more days at a beach resort out-of-town. Third, you guys (with the exception of a few) really gave me a hard time deciding which ones should be included in the best three so I added another winner. I think I'm gonna be needing judges for my future contests so I won't get bankrupt for choosing too many winners!

So without further ado, here are the winners!

<< The moment I saw it, I knew it's one of the best! It's really cute and shows my mascot's personality. (Look at that frown.. er.. blank-ish expression) That's the reason I used it in the banner of my new personal journal design (and without asking first for the contestant's permission, too! I hope she won't get mad at me.) I just modified my version a bit to show the right colors but the original's still a winner nonetheless! She's got really great perception and coloring skills, too. I've tried traditional art before and it wasn't easy, so the way this deviant has drawn Morgue through it is really awe-inspiring for me to improve my own skills.


<< I really love this piece! The way that Lockett (another character of mine) looked at Morgue and how he held her truly showed his love for her and it made my heart sink. I remember mentioning somewhere that I take into account the feelings that I get when looking at and judging a certain artwork. Those feelings really played a great part for making me choose this piece. I'd really love to have the original drawing framed and hanged on my wall because it made me cry in a good but lonely way (..try reading the characters' histories while listening to "Never Meant to Belong" by Shiro Sagisu and then look at this artwork. ...NO! THAT'S NOT WHAT I DID but it still made me cry!) It's like watching a love story unfold before my eyes, no matter how vague the ending would seem. I think I know what my next contest would be about!


<< Again, feelings did a great part for making me choose this. Although she can't smile nor laugh nor feel purely happy, Morgue isn't at all that cold, gloomy, me-versus-the-world type of usagimimi. This artwork shows her loving and caring side and that is what I like about it. The scene is actually showing one of the least lonely moments in Morgue's life where she feels needed by someone, even if that someone (or something) doesn't talk back or say thanks. I really love how isabelfenix depicted this side of Morgue!


<< With my current coloring skills, I can only dream of creating something like this digital artwork here, with all the shading and the lines and the background and the details and the intensity that it exhibits. It made me go "WWOOOOOOWWWW!!!!" for like 11 seconds when I first saw it, with matching wide eyes!! I really love how bad ass Morgue turned out to be in this piece. I won't ever regret holding contests because of awesome entries such as this one!
