The "zombie" design and part of her story has been replaced with a realistic version -- that's right, she's alive now Scars have been tweaked, turned into burn scars, and given the correct skin color. Name has also been changed from Killed In Action to Lady Killer.

Here's our new little ZOMBIE pony! I'm very pleased to have her finished at last. Arik, her rider, was created by someone who loves zombies, so I promised a zombie mount for him when I got around to it. And here she is! It kinda defeats the idea of TES being a realistic stable, but she'll be our little exception.

About

Backstory:
    Kia has, clearly, been to hell and back again. She was once a child's jumper; for the first 8 years of her life, she lived with a little girl, Olivia, and her father. Olivia was gentle rider and her father was a patient trainer, so Kia was more than happy with them. During one dry season, however, the hayloft suddenly set fire to the barn. All of their small herd was safely out in paddock at the time -- save for Kia, who had been stalled for a show the next day. Before her father could stop her, Olivia rushed into the barn to free her beloved pony. When the stall door opened, Kia burst out and unintentionally knocked Olivia to the ground. It is uncertain whether Olivia hit her head, inhaled too much smoke, or got trapped somehow, but she never made it out.

    In time, Olivia's father moved his horses to a new barn. Unfortunately he struggled to rebuild his life, and eventually sold all his horses, save for Kia. He hoped Kia would remind him of happier times with his daughter... instead, Kia's scars onlyreminded him of the fire, and how Olivia died for her.

    Arik wasn't exactly looking to take on a second horse. At the time, he'd owned a Hanoverian, and was busied with dressage. He had been on a hack when Kia came running into his path, loose and panicked. Arik caught her and eventually found her owner, a gruff-looking man, a mile or two away. Apparently, Kia had bolted while attempting to load... an odd thing, as she once loaded to-and-from shows without trouble. Arik meant leave them and turn back home, when the man mentioned Kia was being taken to slaughter; he'd found no luck in selling her for over a year. Arik has never been the sentimental type, but to him, there was too much life in the mare to leave her. Whatever beat her up so badly, Arik figured, she must have narrowly escaped death, and it was hardly fair to make her face it again. It didn't take much to get Kia's owner to sell to Arik.

Now:
    Kia is surprisingly hardy. According to the vet, she remains perfectly suitable for riding, but should mostly stick to flatwork as her muscles aren't in the best condition anymore. She is not to be jumped higher than 2 feet, if at all, and should be given long periods of rest between intense work sessions. Fortunately, she is now a pleasure pony more than anything.

    Despite her scarred appearance, Kia is kept remarkably clean. Arik finds her presence inexplicably soothing and has come to love her deeply for her company alone; she has become his stress-relief ride over the years. He does his best to spend time with her as often as possible. When unable to ride, he will still take the time to groom her.
