IT SEEMED INNOCENT ENOUGH BEFORE._

A game. A small one, its design not much different from your traditional fare of online RPG games.
There was to be a hero. A tower. A quest.
A reward.

There was one difference that set this project apart, however.
It was the implementation of a "learning system", a bit of code initially seeded into the original program that was designed to adapt and use its "evolutions" to challenge the player.This was so the player would be motivated to keep coming back to the game, with every change engaging both parties to grow and press forward. A twist to the modern-day video game AI, at least that's what they would have called it.

The project was abandoned later for reasons unknown, perhaps due to a lack of funds to continue - or a realization, for their goals were a little too ambitious. Regardless, the files were forgotten, abandoned but preserved and no longer with a team to maintain or look after them. They were so vulnerable, up for the grabs by any anybody.

It was so small then.


THE NEWS REVVED UP A FEW YEARS LATER._

The media called it a "freak wave of deaths", an unfortunate phenomenon that nobody could really anticipate - for who could forsee such a large amount of unexplained tragedy? Accidents, murders, suicides... there were very little links between the victims of this strange occurrence, and the few that existed may have just been coincidence.
But they were all connected in reality, for they all ran the same file that led to their deaths.

An .exe file that led all those dead souls to Koroba.


But that was in the past.
Now it knows it can run.

The real first game is waiting.
And you're invited.
