A Snark in the Dark

I probably should've used the same pixel ratio as Rabulav, as I feel the lines are too fine and too obviously wobbly, and it probably caused me to mess up proportions unintentionally *EDIT: Fixed his tiny Goomba head*. Here I convert a more lighter version of my character Vale into the DT setting. It totally appears like I glued ears on him.

I've a few ideas on a backstory as to why he's so open around Freyr and Freyja despite his role as a hidden guard and potential assassin.  Most involve that line where Freyr mentions to his father something about breaking the caste system, as if it was something his father had set out to do originally.  Perhaps it is a connection to Synos that lead to that, or one day Freyja forcing him to break the mold when he tailed her away from town not knowing that was her plan all along (a girl forces her hidden body guard to come out and have a tea party, perhaps?), or Freyrs own intentions to follow through with those a fore mentioned caste-system-breaking plans that brought a Knife into the fold after stumbling upon Utien using his mana arts out of allowable bounds.  Or maybe a mix of all?

Utien could've been Wutien, Uten, or Wuten. The parts would be Chinese "Wu(U) 乌" for Dark (or Crow) and the Slovenian "tien" for "shadow" (or would have been Russian "ten" for "shadow/wraith"). Tien (at one time I almost went with Tiene) was also meant to be a play on that "shadow" and the river Siene, historically a place that bodies were dumped, and one of its tributaries leads back to Vale's name in a way. Utien was almost Utier to play on Ottar, a protege of Freyja who was once disguised as her riding boar Hildisvini (since in my mind Freyja loves piggy-back rides). Unintentionally sounds like Etienne, but perhaps that lets it be accepted as a name easier.

Perhaps if my Dragon Age PnP group makes it to Orlais I'll retain that Etienne for a Vale-insert bardic contact. We'll see.
