On the darkened streets of Station Square, a crime was being committed. An adult man, woman, and two children were cowering in fear at their small but terrifying assailant. The man got in front of the other three as if to shield them from the little orange phoenix standing in front of them, flames burning on his fists. “Please...don't hurt my family. I'll do whatever you want.”

The Phoenix, Garnett, doused his own flames and sneered. “Then hand over all of your valuables before I lose my patience again!”

“O-Of course. Take it. Just leave us alone.”

The man tore his wallet from his pocket and tossed it on the ground in front of Garnett and took off in the opposite direction with his family. Garnett stepped forward and scooped up the wallet and stole everything that was inside. This was how he was living now. He would steal and coerce to get what he wanted. As ruthless as he was, he was not stupid. He had to stick to petty attacks so as not to draw too much attention to himself or his loyal followers. But with every crime committed, the more displeased Garnett became with it.

“What have I become? A common crook? A petty thief? I had it all once! I was a KING! The rightful ruler of the Mythsetians. Now that title is in the hands of my idiot brother. Now I am nothing; an exile with no place to call my own. One day though...I will have my revenge. I will have it all back…No matter the cost!”

Garnett took what he stole and flew off toward the place where he and his brothers Ghost and Pine called home for now; a small run down shack just outside Station Square. His thoughts were filled with thoughts of revenge and how his lust for power would pay off one day. All of a sudden, his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a voice. “Garnett...”

Garnett stopped in mid-air, keeping himself flying by flapping his wings. “Who? Show yourself whoever you are! Do you know who you speak to?”

“I speak to someone who wants it all. You want it all don't you, Garnett?

“What makes you think you know anything about me, coward. Come out before I BURN you out!

Almost as if to answer his call, an orange light descended upon Garnett. Before he could react, a single orange glowing ring slid onto one of his feathery digits. Garnett flinched at this, barely noticing it happened. The light surrounded him and began altering his outward appearance. He was adorned with a bright orange costume with broad shoulder pads. His eyes also turned a sickening orange, his expression going even more sinister. In his own head, he had only one thing on his mind; take. Take everything. Take it all, for everything he saw should belong to him.

“All...All will be mine! Just you all wait and see!
How the mighty hath fallen. Garnett the Phoenix now lives a new life away from all that he had. The king is now a criminal. The mighty phoenix is now the cowering crow. This is his story of how a Lantern Ring found him and how he will get all his power back.
I know this is a lot shorter than many of the others I have done, but I didn't feel like much was needed when dealing with this scenario. I hope it is still enjoyable anyway, no matter how short it is.

What about Garnett's other siblings? Find out what happened to one of them in the previous story: [link]
AND
What will happen to the remaining members of his family? The answer to that lies ahead: [link]

Zephyros has a picture of Garnett as a Lantern now. He looks AWESOME. Here, have a look: [link]

"The king is now a criminal. The mighty phoenix is now the cowering crow." God that sounds so awesome. You really have a way with words, do you know that? If not, I'd be more than happy to remind you ^_^

It may be short, but I kinda like it that way. With Garnett, it's all pretty simple and straightforward with what he wants and who he is so there isn't as much of a need to dive down emotionally like with the other Mythos family members. Not only that, but getting into the root of Garnett's emotions just doesn't seem... right. Know what I mean? He's not that kind of character :3 and I think you captured that well with the shortness and straightforwardness of this story!
