TSA: Lucifer [OC Meme]

I gave him the name 'Lucifer', because he was a demon and the highest ranking one at that. That name later evolved into a title that he treats as a name.

Lucifer: *he shrugs* Does it matter what I think? It's a hassle to change again.

4.) OK then! Would they change their name if they could? Did they ever go by a different name?

Later on, as he was developed, I gave Lucifer an old name: Vinson, which means 'conqueror' and is an alternative spelling to the name 'Vincent' (though some sites state that 'Vinson' means 'son of Vincent'...) I chose Vinson because of two reasons, one is that I didn't want to use the more popular version of the name and another reason is that it fit him. Lucifer/Vinson is a conqueror, in a strange sense.

5.) What is your OC's background? Where did they come from?

Vinson, which is the name I use to refer to Lucifer prior his betrayal, was an angel in Heaven. His best friend is (because he still considers that person to be his best friend) High Lord Mikael, the representative of God. After Mikael's crowning, Vinson was promoted to become the Lord of Heaven or, in other words, Mikael's right hand man.

When he was 7 222 years old (he's currently 13 666. He's old. I know), Mikael took in a baby and named it Cupid Shotwise. From there, Vinson became an older brother figure to Cupid, though he wasn't exactly open with his affection. Thousands of years later, twenty or so years prior to his current state, war was declared between Heaven, Hell and Ascentia (a more technologically advanced version of Earth). To stop it, Mikael and Vinson agreed to meet with the High Lord of Hell, Lucifer the First, in Purgatory. Vinson mainly tagged along because he didn't trust Lucifer. His instincts proved true because the meeting was a trap, and ambush. Near the end of the resulting battle, Mikael was killed by Lucifer and Vinson brought the angel's body back to Heaven, unable to go after Lucifer for the demon had disappeared moments after carrying out the deed. Upon arriving in Heaven, Vinson collapsed, cradling Mikael's body, and the two were promptly found by Cupid who had been waiting for their return.

Days later, Vinson finally woke up and found himself in his room, his body having healed from the battle. Later on, he discovered that during his sleep, Cupid had been promoted to High Lord and given the name 'Mikael'. Feelings of betrayal ran through him, directed more towards God than anyone else. Vinson believed that God knew what would happen and had sent Mikael to his death anyway. He despised the angels for accepting Cupid as the High Lord and as the new Mikael so readily. He despised Cupid for believing in God anyway. He left.

His descent from Heaven caused his wings to turn a light shade of gray and Vinson's first course of action was to attack the High Lord of Hell. Dumb luck saved him, for he was able to take Lucifer the First by surprise and slaughter him. A few casualties resulted in the attack, but he didn't care. They were demons. Why should he? On the same day of his revenge, the Devil welcomed Vinson into Hell, bestowing him the title of High Lord of Hell and, consequently, the name 'Lucifer'. By then, his sanity was on the verge of snapping. Vinson accepted the title and name, forcing whatever memories of his time in Heaven to the back of his mind where it remains locked up until today. He embraced the name 'Lucifer' completely, refusing to acknowledge his old name, answering only to 'Lucifer'.

A few years later, while still getting used to his new role, Lucifer the Second received reports on missing demons, one of which he realized to be a rogue who fled the battle at Purgatory. Hate and anger led him to tracking the demon to Ascentia, where the demon had taken on a human life and had even married and adopted a child. Lucifer didn't care. Without the slightest hint of mercy, he killed the demon's human wife when she got in the way and proceeded to strangle the demon with his bare hands. Just as the body went limp, Lucifer turned around to find a young girl with red hair and green eyes staring at him in horror. There was no hesitation. Lucifer caught the girl and carved her eye out in his fit of adrenaline and insanity. He left a scar that went from the top right side of her forehead, all the way down her face. Just before he left, he told her to words that, at the present time, he cannot recall.

"Hate me."

Upon the start of the war, the leaders of each side met once more. There, Lucifer met Cupid once more as well as a familiar woman. Though she had grown older, she was still recognisable by the scar he had left her. Scarlette was her name. Lucifer had laughed at how apt the name was, as well as the fact that she wanted him dead. Who didn't want him dead by then?

The war began.

6.) Describe how your OC looks, or just give us a picture. Your call.

Lucifer has black hair that, if left alone, will proceed to tangle itself into an unruly mess. He tames it by using gel to slick it back. His eyes are a violet shade and the pupils are vertical black slits. His skin is tanned and his default expression is a knowing smirk. Lucifer's daily attire consists of a formal red shirt and a black tie under a brown trench coat, accompanied by brown slacks and black leather shoes. Often, he carries his weapon with him: A black scythe with a skull at the top and thorny vines winding around the shaft (though it doesn't actually touch the shaft. Lucifer's hands slip between the gaps during fights). Its name is Nameless, due to Lucifer's horrible naming sense and weird sense of humor.

7.) Why did you pick your OC to have this appearance?

Lucifer is, clearly, a bad guy. I wanted someone who was a total asshat to everything alive and even some dead things. His personality is shown clearly in his appearance. Formal at all times, his language matches that because he never curses, a habit picked from spending too much time with Mikael (or rather, getting hit too many times by Mikael for cursing). Not only that, but his clothes give the impression of someone of importance, or someone who doesn't get close to others on purpose, which is true. Lucifer avoids friendly relationships as if it were poison.

8.) Does your OC symbolise anything else?

I didn't create him with any symbolism in mind, but I suppose that he represents someone who has gone down the wrong path and is struggling to cope with that on his own. His pride is too great for him to ask for help and his need to not have friends makes it difficult for him to seek advice from anyone. One of the two people who can save him is dead while the other wants him dead. As such, Lucifer is left to pick up his own pieces and put them back as best he can, though it doesn't seem to be working very well.

Lucifer is from a universe I created and he is a part of the roleplay group that I founded, The Second Apocalypse.

11.) Interesting…Pick two of your other OCs (or characters from a fandom) and describe their relationship, or show us how they normally interact.

Because I don't have any other characters in TSA (ones that will interact with Lucifer regularly, anyway), I'll talk about the OCs of two other people and their relationship with Lucifer.

Created and played by atlas-rabbit, Cupid is the adopted son of Mikael the First. Vinson helped Mikael take care of Cupid, though he still complained about it even when he grew to like the child. While Cupid looked up to Mikael as a father, he had a brotherly relationship with Vinson, though Vinson wasn't very good at showing his affection. After becoming what he is now, Lucifer hates Cupid deeply and wishes to kill him with his own hands, a feeling which is mutual for Cupid. They can't see each other without glaring daggers, a matter which is not helped by Cupid's habit of animating Mikael's body and bringing it out with him when there are no fights.

Deep down, hidden somewhere in his mind to the point where even he is unaware of it, Lucifer still cares for Cupid as a little brother. Sadly, it's something he likely won't realize until something triggers it.

The adopted child of a demon and a human. Lucifer scarred her, took her eye out, killed her parents, and left. She wants him dead, he doesn't give a rat's rear end about her. When they meet in Oasis, the no-fire zone in Ascentia, he is constantly annoyed by her inability to pay attention to what he's saying .Though he doesn't really care about whether she answers him, he finds it annoying when she seems to think she has the right to demand things of him.

12.) When you were making your OC, how did you plan it out?

I didn't. Lucifer popped out the moment I decided I wanted a demon. I built his entire character before creating the universe he lived in. Once the universe was completed, I reworked his history so that he fit in.

13.) Describe your OC's personality.

Lucifer is an asshat. He's sarcastically polite and will not hesitate to say that he doesn't give a crap about you. He's annoying, stubborn, proud, and loves to bug the living daylights out of people. He was made to be hated, and hated he is.

Despite that, there are a few things that make him likeable, though one would have to really work to see that side of him. For one thing, he is extremely careful and gentle with kids, though that may be because he hates it when they cry. It annoys him. As such, he usually lets himself be pushed around by kids. He does have his limits, but he usually just waits for the nearest available person to dump the kid with.

Not only that, but he has a strange affection for his familiar, Micky. As Micky had been with him since his days in Heaven, he hates and loves the creature at the same time. He hates it because it's a reminder of what he used to be as well as the person he couldn't save. Micky had been named after Mikael, after all. He loves it because he knows it will remain loyal only to him until his death and because he can't seem to treat it too badly. He's too used to playing with the familiar from his time in Heaven.

14.) Why does your OC act this way? Is it because of their past? Or is it because of a certain event or person?

It's all explained in his history but....

Lucifer is how he is now because of Mikael's death. He has forgotten how to care about anything and is adamant in believing that he doesn't need anyone in his life. He has conditioned himself to believe that being hated is exactly how he wants it to be. He doesn't want to be close to anyone, subconsciously not wanting to be betrayed again, and therefore will push away all those who attempt to break through the mental barriers he has up.

15.) What is one deep dark secret your OC has?

His real name. He hates reminders of his past.

16.) What does your OC regret the most?

Mikael's death. He hates God for sending Mikael to his death, hates Lucifer the First for killing Mikael, and hates himself for being unable to save Mikael.

17.) What is the worst thing that has ever happened to your OC?

Mikael's death. To him, Mikael was his God. He was never a proper follower of God, not caring for someone he didn't know. Mikael, on the other hand, was pretty much the only person who Lucifer ever wanted to be close to. Had Mikael asked him to throw his life on the line, he would have done so without a second thought. He wasn't a blind followed of Mikael, willing to argue if what was asked of him went against what he thought, but most of the time, he knew Mikael's decisions were for the best.

18.) What is the best thing that has ever happened to your OC?

Meeting Mikael.
