A 40 minute speedpainting for the daily SDJ speedpainting theme "Vikings" for the group :iconda-speedpaint:

I just wanted to paint a quick, close up, dark and dirty portrait for this theme, so I googled dark portrait ...and was inspired by this photo by denizengt for the lighting on the vikings face:

I like the rather fat brush strokes for the facial hair - it seems like he's a big tired Viking person who just can home from a plunder... Kinda wrung out and greasy...
