BACKGROUND

When John Domeck retires from being the Gray Champion, he finds out the Society of the Icy Finger has renewed the experiment performed by Eqquibus. A new time traveler has entered the mid-21st century. With help from Hea Pang and Hester's locket, John transfers his powers to the new Gray Champion: Ray Bernald. With each new incarnation of the Champion, a slight costume upgrade is possible. John's suit was half-Pilgrim like Hawthorne's, and half Civil War Confederate soldier. Ray, however, dresses in a new uniform more reminiscent of his original time period: WWI. Shotguns and M1 Garands present an upgrade from the sword-swinging of John's Gray Champion. A shorter beard, more combat experience, a more graceful hat / helmet, and better bullet protection built into the suit allow for Gray Champion next to free up his concentration to spend more on fighting and less on avoiding bullets. Due to this, the new one is more energy-efficient. His confidence with guns and bayonets also means that he can pack more types of deadly punch than his predecessor. Also, he's younger to begin with. Meaning, more stamina than the original. Yet, with all the same powers!
