Please :+fav: this news article so it will reach a larger audience!

This is a weekly feature of amazing literature that I come by during my
travels across deviantART. This is only a small sample of a vast amount
of wonderful pieces of literature written by absolutely fantastic
writers. Each deviation was carefully selected from a writer's gallery
based on structure, impact and word usage. I will never feature the
same person twice (though this gets harder to keep track of
now that we can change usernames), so check out these lovely writers now while you can!

across my pelvis like an ocean
the waves rocking me down, down
sucking the sandbones of my body
into your depths

if you think it's going to rain, it will.i am starved for rain
i am the earth after a fifty-two year drought
and my cries are the tree’s leaves whistling in the cold wind.
i am the flowers when they die,
for lack of ocean liquid and grey skies.
i am laying in the burning grass,
waiting for the sun to catch my clothes of fire.
i am the birds and their moans,
they don’t even bother chirping anymore as they know
that none of their friends even care to respond.
i am their scorched throats and their charred feathers,
i am the only one here who cares about the
thunder and lightning
and the wind in soaked hair and the long
claps that will wake even the deepest creature from sleep
i am starved for rain,
but no more starved than my lungs are for air.

cries and pleasure of the chosen and the thief,

ocean to shoreit was the shudder of remembrance, the awakening of visceral feelings.
it was the goosebumps racing across arms and legs as lips brushed and nosed bumped.
it was in the tears that were shed after leaving and it was in the sobs as shirts were grabbed and arms flung across shoulders and held onto tightly.
it was in the unspoken moments; meeting her eyes in the bathroom mirror and smiling that soft smile that only she knew was my real one. it was the way our hands found themselves hopelessly intertwined and the way she seemed to lean into me and me into her.
the soft sound of waves lapping the sand was what i felt when i was with her.
we would watch as the ocean offered her love to the earth again and again only to be sent back time after time and on nights like tonight, she would sob into my chest and tell me how unfair all of it is.
and i whisper calming words and stroke her hair because i know it could be no other way.
every time i leave it feels like my heart is breaking. every time i

:thumb326733616: The Bride of AtlasShe met him when the world was new;
when wars were fought in the cosmos
and celestial beings deigned expose
and visit themselves upon the mortals.
In darkness he came to her;
somewhere between fantasy and the real,
disguised as a human, burly and firm
with want of a lover and yearning for release.
She knew him as a man
and he loved her as his wife.

A Titan he had always been
at battle with Olympians
who garnered all of humanity's love
and chose war over peace to keep it.
As lightning struck, thunder roared,
and waves destroyed the earth,
all grew quiet as Olympus rejoiced
and she knew that he had lost.
Zeus then rest upon his shoulders
the weight of the world eternal.
A punishment made more severe
by lack of warmth from her mortal heart.
He carried his punishment made unending
as Earth's coarsened face gouged his back.
The insects and beasts stung and mauled
and the humans warred and burned his flesh.
Still he held the world atop his shoulders
and severed it from t

PS. Hi! I'm alive. I've basically been doing nothing here in the past few weeks but I'll be back this weekend, hopefully! :)
