Like Emiris, Gaius incorporates dance into his fighting style and vice versa, so he uses his chakrams for battle as well as for performance.

Abilities:
Guardian Training: Like all Guardians he was trained in various dual handed weapons and polearms as well as hand to hand combat. Included in his training was to be able to use a wide variety of minor magic focusing on assistance and defensive types in order to adequately be able to protect his charge. While some of the magic might look impressive it’s all pretty basic, although some of it is very old. Most of this magic would fail miserably if matched head to head against someone who studies magic.
Illusions: In addition to a Guardian’s usual skill set Gaius has an affinity towards slight illusions and hypnotic skills as well as wind magic. His illusions skills are rather basic and harmless. They only affect visual senses and even then someone paying close attention will be able to tell they're fake. He mostly uses them for entertainment purposes and quick tricks.
Hypnotic: Like the illusions skills they hypnotic skills are just performance touches. Basically just a little magic to make what he's doing seem interesting, like a snake watching a flute wave back and forth. They do not actually affect the person watching in a physical manner and it's easy to turn away if they're not interested.

Charge Inherited: Aside from his colors Gaius only got a slightly higher affinity towards wind magic. He can now use it with much more ease than before and practically without thinking, but the strength of the skills hasn't really changed.

Personality:
Gaius’ most prominent personality trait is that he’s very energetic and almost childish most of the time. It’s very unusual to see him tired and he never seems to sleep or even need it. He has a strong devotion to those he’s closest to with Miuriel being at the top and he shares the same blunt openness as Miuriel, only Gaius has never seemed to notice or care what people think of him and therefore doesn’t even try to change.

History:
Gaius’ first charge was a sylph woman named Aniya who shared the same passion for dancing as he did. Considering the peaceful times Gaius had little to worry about in regards of protecting her from anything worse than a few stray irritable monsters and the occasional brigand. Both of them traveled with a dancing troupe, performing and generally having fun while working to make others happy.
After Aniya passed of age Gaius returned back home as normal to help with the young Guardians, or more specifically raising Miuriel. If possible Gaius was even more devoted to Miuriel than he was to Aniya though just barely refraining from being smothering. He noticed early that Miuriel had a hard time getting along with others because of his bluntness but Gaius always seemed to know how to cheer him up.
After Miuriel graduated and was bonded to Kilik Gaius didn’t see him for about 37 years, showing up at Kilik’s home suddenly looking for Mikhail. After raising Miuriel Gaius should have gotten a new charge as well, but since Mikhail had requested for him to be a close, personal assistant Gaius remained unbounded in order to allow for him to not have to worry about protecting someone in addition to what he was already doing.
Mikhail had set up a defense system around his own charge, Eliza, in order to protect her while her mind gradually continued to sort through an encoded book that had been downloaded into it. The area was surrounded by four golems that were enchanted to be controlled by a specific person from anywhere on Zion. Gaius and Lana became the two who were linked to the golems, using them to help protect Eliza whenever the defense system was triggered by anyone coming too close.

After raising Miuriel Gaius stayed with his old dance troupe and travelled around Zion, continuing to perform like in the old days. None of them knew about his connection to Mikhail, the times he passed out because of the system being triggered were always just associated with him working too hard and not being careful.
After Mikhail and Eliza suddenly disappeared one day Gaius spent a while trying to find them and once he did he continued to help them out as before.

For awhile he hung out with Miuriel and Kilik, waiting to be called to do something else for Mikhail, but that was interrupted when he and Elsie were kidnapped by people who were using others to develop military drugs. This particular kidnapper, Andreas, was also in the business of kidnapping Guardians and selling them as 'second chance items' of sorts, which is what warranted Gaius being a target. Andreas was working closely with another Guardian, Caelian Seraphim Lazeaos, who would bring him unbonded Guardians for little more than insight on the other research that was being done. Both Lazeaos and Andreas were killed, Lazeaos ultimately done in by Andreas and the demon run through by Ira. During the battle however Andreas used Gaius to heal himself by forcefully bonding with him while he was drugged with sedatives. Because of this after they were rescued Gaius realized it wasn't safe for him to wander around Zion without a charge anymore and planned on returning to Aledacia, where he'd been born, to wait for the time when he was properly bonded again.

The trip back to Aledacia was interrupted though as Iona talked to Mikhail about becoming a charge to a Guardian. Considering the way she'd acted as part of the rescue team and how she responded to the questions Mikhail asked the Seraphim ended up pulling a few minor strings and had her paired up with Gaius.

After the Rifts swallowed Selesenia Gaius was given charge of one of the young Guardians in addition to his role as Iona's charge. The baby Guardian was the same one who had also been kidnapped at the same time and with whom Iona and Gaius already had a bond with. Presently Gaius stays with Iona at her friend's home taking care of her, Miradella, and also helping with the orphan kids that Iona watches over when he's needed.


Extra facts:
His favorite pastime and hobby is to dance, focusing on more exotic styles from the more nomadic civilizations of Zion. (ie Bollywood, Gypsy dancing, etc.) He adds his own touch of ring dancing to the styles as well, just to make them more difficult and fun.
He is presently bonded to Iona, and while it isn't easy he loves every minute of it.
He enjoys getting people to dance with him, even if they’re just strangers. He’s constantly trying to get Miuriel to join him, but it usually doesn’t happen.

Likes:
Emiris and Miuriel. Miuriel was the one he raised and Emiris was Miur’s childhood companion so Gaius got to know him really well too.
Getting other people to dance with him.
Fat purple grapes. The kind that have a lot of juice and color your mouth after a handful.

Dislikes:
Sitting still for too long for no good reason.
Parsley. It’s just weird.
