Introducing the artist!

This week I am totally satisfied to feature one of our members, who is making art in a very special way which isn’t really used our days anymore.
I am proud to present to you RevolverWinds, an artist from the Isle of Man – and for sure, a lefty. :D

I just had to feature him this time, because from the first moment I saw one of his submissions in our group I enjoyed looking at his surreal collages.
Every piece he is doing is full of surreal symbols, interesting twists and a little bit of madness – but in a good way.
Making a collage I can imagine you need to be very patient, as you need quite some time to find the right pictures in a „right“ perspective angle,
and I can imagine this is really not easy.
When you look at RevolverWinds pictures you see that he is a master in looking for the right angled pieces – all his pictures do not look like
collages at all. They are perfectly cut out and put together, they look like painted pieces!

I really recommend that you take a look at this wonderful gallery!

His latest work I want you to present first. As I told before: Totally surreal. Full of details and meanings. I also love the artists comment which is just giving a description as if the picture shows as something normal like a horse.

I just HAD to pic this picture into my feature! Why? Because it is bringing up a theme which is near to this group: Left Brain and Right Brain. We as lefties know even better, what this means.

Here I present you an artwork which is even more detailed than the last ones. It even has a full background. I am overwhelmed by how RevolverWinds take care about every piece he used in his collage. The effect of underwater is just perfect with the lighter collage piece he used for it. The perspective is wonderfully done. And all those details again!

As maybe some of you will not believe that these are really collages RevolverWinds is doing himself I decided to put here a process picture as last feature. BANG. Can you see all those little pieces cut out perfectly and than arranged perfectly to a new awesome piece? Just wow. I am speechless!

INTERVIEW WITH THE ARTIST

1. Where do you get your inspiration from?
Mentally I’m not aware of where my inspirations arise from. They come from a place outside my awareness. I can say that nearly every aspect of my life however mundane in superficial appearance, carries potently stimulating powers and generally I find curiosity in even the least of them.

2. Which artist/creative person inspires you the most?
Jan Svankmajer, Toc Fetch, Jim Woodring---these are my creative parents

3. How/Where have you learned to use and axpand your skills to this level?
Any abilities I’ve developed are the accident of all my years of imaginative play; working for the joy of the soul with no intended purpose or destination.

4. When and/or how have you found your passion for what you are doing?
There wasn’t a time in my memory that I wasn’t compulsively driven to act in the arts. The inclination is natural like the one shared between a rabbit and a carrot.

5. How does your creative process look like?
All my activities are the improvisation of my inner impulses. Art, to me, should flow like sincere laughter—never being contrived or planned.

6. Which piece of your work is your current favorite and why?
In a boring fashion I tend to think whatever I’m involved with at the time is the best piece yet. It’s a delusion undoubtedly, but it always heightens my resolve to finish present tasks.

7. Any ideas what work you will do next?
One day I’d like to shrug off the oppressive forces of society and join the hermits in the Himalaya mountain ranges. That probably sounds like a joke, but it isn’t. When I’ve completed all that I was born to complete I would feel peace in relinquishing my remaining years in prayer at the foot of Mount Everest. I hope the last sight these tired eyes witness is the stars from the vantage of the Earth’s tallest mountain.

8. What advice would you give others who would like to reach your skills?
Work without concern for results. Love even the lowest of what others aren’t willing to love.

Looking at RevolverWinds gallery and than READING HIS ANSWERS to our interview let me feel deep respect for him. I think RevolverWinds is not only a wonderful artist but also a great person with a wonderful character. Do what you love, love what you do, give love to the whole world, every little piece and to things maybe others do not love. I think this is a wonderful message RevolverWinds is giving us with his answers but also with his pieces. Thank you so much!

Amazing, great pics and ideals, more people should learn to think outside the box!
