DISCLAIMER: This is not mandatory. In fact you can ignore this and pretend it’s a pile of horse poo. We as judges do not judge contestants off how they interpret, characterize, and otherwise represent our NPCs. This is just something I felt like sharing in case you ever want to work with some backstory,  have plot fodder, build off, or even completely change Carter’s story. That is all.

Growing up: Carter grew up on a human colony out in deep space as Earth was exploring the outer reaches of the universe. Carter was often described as a tom-boy. She picked fights with many kids and as she grew up her temper grew with her. Around middle school her telepathic abilities surfaced and she was shipped off-world to a compound for children of such interesting cases.

Training: The compound in reality was for militia training and there Carter harnessed her powers and her frustrations. Not long after, a war broke out between humans and neighboring aliens who sought to eradicate the colonists from that corner of the universe. During this time, Carter signed up to be a fighter pilot and went into her training as the war ravaged her home.

The fight:  The boarder war raged on and eventually came to the point where the human militia were on their last leg. The aliens had brought their mothership as well as reinforcements. Carter and her fighter squad were poised in formation as their commander gave them a final speech, essentially saying they’re were all going to die there. The enemies would not accept their surrender. So came the final fight for their lives and one after another, her team was blown to bits. Then Carter had an idea. A bad stupid idea, but hey, they were all going to die, what did it matter? Carter changed route and nose-dived straight towards the enemies mothership’s docking bays. She activated her warheads and every other firearm she had on her ship, screaming out her final words: “I will end you all!” With that, she rammed her ship through the docking port, straight in the docked enemy ships, fully loaded with their own warheads. The resulting explosion took down the mothership with Carter still inside. But with that act, the border war ended. Though tensions are still high, the neighboring aliens now avoid the human colony to the best of their abilities. But what of Carter?

The Aftermath: Carter had sacrificed herself and the aliens had surrendered and withdrew. The captain gave a speech for the fallen and especially the brave pilot who laid down her life that day. However he was only half way through when the group heard a knocking on the window. Floating among the debris was Carter, battered, but still alive and encased in a blue bubble. There was a great celebration for her survival, though she had only done so by the sheer luck that her telekinetic abilities would shield her from such a blast.  However it was all cut short when the captain came around, stripped her of her ranks, and had her kicked out for reckless behavior. Perhaps it was all stupid, but to Carter it was a massive betrayal. So with what money she had left she took the next ship out to Roulette City.

The City: It wasn’t long before Carter ended up running out of her savings and being stuck in the slums of RC. She turned to earning her wages in local pit fights. One night in a bar she was approached by Ronald Jackson himself and was given an offer. RJ said that if Carter defeated a reoccurring champion in his tournament not only would she receive the cash prize, but also special training and education. Desperate for a new start, Carter took him up on his offer and entered the RC Tournament. She was victorious.

Apprentice: During her training and education, Carter learned to control her rage and her telekinetic abilities even further. Carter excelled in her studies and people began to recognize her as more than just a pit fighter. Soon Carter began to receive offers for her talents and intellect but before she had the chance to accept any, Carter was once again approached by RJ: this time his offer was for a partnership. RJ knew he would needed an extra body to help oversee his new project the RC Space Station and from what he had pulled up on Carter’s files, he knew she was extremely hard to kill. Not to mention her organizations and sense of duty were things he could easily manipulate. Carter, who was still grateful for the chance RJ had given her originally, took his offer and assumed the role as RJ’s apprentice.

The Station: As years went by, Carter’s tolerance and patience with her mentor diminished. Try as she might, she could not ignore the financial segregation and suffering that went on in the station. Slowly, and on her own authority, she began to try different methods to spread the wealth and equality in the station. This however angered many involved parties and caused backlash on RJ. When confronted, Carter told RJ that she would be taking over the station like or not. Strangely enough, RJ let Carter have it without a fight. When asked his only response was “There are some people you don’t pick a fight with.”

Presently: With RJ’s "death" many interested parties scrambled to try and retake anything he was a part of including the station. As of now, no one has been successful in overtaking the station and, more than not, the interested parties underestimate Carter’s abilities and potential. No one knows for sure how far her abilities and influence extend, but if it was enough to even keep the notorious Ronald Jackson away, it can only be assumed that Carter is a very capable and dangerous adversary.

I had a lot of internal arguing about posting this. However I decided to go ahead and give you guys some more tools to work with. I'll add once again that you do NOT have to use ANY of this.
Seriously you could put Carter in a pink dress and have him skip around singing Daisy Bell and I would not count it against you.
This is just here in case you want it.

Carter is such a badass holy ballllllls.
Regardless of the lack-of-necessity to post a story for the NPC I still think it was a cool idea.
Some people can consider it canon and others can make their own shit up, it's up to them.
I am personally grateful because now I know how the fuck Carter got here in your mind.
Shit's cool yo.
