By some strange circumstance, I am free from work on Saturday, so I'll be attending Supercon and trying my hand at cosplay photography! It's been over five years since I did cosplay photography, back in high school when all I had was a Canon xTi Rebel and a kit lens. I am excited to see what five years of experience will mean. But it'll also be nice to get a little nostalgic and just experiment for once.
Planned Photoshoots:
Final Fantasy X with
Disney with
The Fifth Element with
Revolutionary Girl Utena or Mass Effect with Kendall Kane
There will certainly be more to come!
Equipment:
Canon 5D Mark III
Canon EF 50mm 1.2L
Canon EF 85mm 1.2L II
Canon EF 100mm 2.8L Macro
Canon 580 EX II Speedlite
Canon 430 EX II Speedlite
Gary Fond Collapsible Lightsphere
B&W .9 ND Filter
Other Awesome People There:
Be sure to look for them at the Artist Alley!
Before = Old Cosplay Photography:
While I find this a little embarrassing, here are some of my old cosplay photos from 5-7 years ago for reference when compared with the photographs I'll take this weekend.
Let me know if you're going to Supercon so I can keep an eye out for you! Otherwise, I hope my watchers will look forward to something different in their inbox!

Embarking on a New Journey
Tomorrow I will be stepping into a whole new world, and embarking on a new journey. Tomorrow, I will officially become a teacher, sharing my knowledge and passion for photography at a local, prestigious prep school. I remember when I first joined Deviant Art, on a computer in my high school's photography class. It is amazing to think about the journey from then, to now.
I am so excited to have my hand in inspiring young minds to embrace photography as I did then. I wished to take a moment to thank everyone on Deviant Art who ever took the time to offer a supportive comment, critique, or even those who decided to follow my work. Your encourag

Birthday, 100K, and the Future
BirthdayToday, on my 25th birthday, I awoke to an outpouring of well wishes here on Deviant Art. Thank you to all of those who wished me a happy birthday, as I really do appreciate it!
This year is one I anticipated with a bit of trepidation and excitement. At 25, I feel that now is the time to pursue my dreams and aspirations at full force. I still have enough youth to be energetic and driven, but old enough to realize that time is what I make of it. In my chosen field of photography, I am at that prime age where the industry can either blossom before me, or shut it's doors. I am poised to push forward and face my fears of rejection and jud
