The Ninja-Ken

I've been wanting to do something like this for awhile, and now I have finally done it. After a long time of preferring to remain anonymous, the creator of these incredibly awesome characters finally decided to come forward and rightfully claim ownership, hence why you might have noticed that I am now openly giving ToonTorment credit for this.

And now, a little background info, according to what their genius creator, , told me:

"They're mercenaries, so they're goal is to live and keep their clan, its members and their traditions alive to continue perfecting their art. Dog training/breeding for intelligence gathering/communication is becoming less useful/common (though Gen and Kumori still tag-teamed a bunch of people) and some environments are not permissive enough for them to take their dogs on operations. So, they decided to see what could be done with cano-sapiens/cano-mutants so that they could always fight alongside their masters.

Since Parvo's first stable cano-mutants were ninjas, ToonTorment's explanation was that a front company for the ninja clan made a molecular stabilizer (the thing from the first episode) for him (or stole one and reverse engineered it) and also provided him with a ninja training program to create ninja cano-mutants. In doing so, they put in a self-expiring program that would leave them able to run dogs of specific phenotypes (dogs containing DNA from native Japanese breeds) through Parvo's cano-mutater and avoid Parvo's mental conditioning. Notice how the ninjas actually growled at Parvo when he threatened them? When Parvo left his ship/mobile base and its cano-mutaters to go chase the dragon/dinosaur eggs, the ninjas broke into it, used the cano-mutaters, gathered what info they could, left and covered their tracks. They knew that Parvo had an inferior design, but they also knew that The Master would never give it to them without leverage."

Why are they mercenaries, you might ask? (I know I did, .)

"They're mercenaries because they had been betrayed too many times by different governments in Japan over the centuries, so after World War II, they started to work for themselves alone, not as official operatives of any government. They're essentially like a modern Private Military Company/Private Security Company, sometimes working for government intelligence organizations, but most often for corporations, organized crime (I know the joke; I said "corporations" twice. ), private individuals and the ninja clan's own front enterprises. They do executive/close protection (bodyguards), industrial espionage (including burglaries, con games, hacking), sabotage, high line burglaries/theft, smuggling, hacking, information warfare/helping rig elections and even paramilitary actions; sneaking into places, blowing things up and hurting/snatching/killing people. They have people who specialize in different things, naturally, like Karasu's master's father is a pilot who specializes in getting through controlled airspace undetected to smuggle contraband or other ninjas on a mission.

As for how they contacted Parvo to get close enough to him to gain access to his tech, they likely made sure that he would come to them by advertising advancements in technologies they knew he would need. They lured the Road Rovers in very much the same way, not covering their tracks well enough when parts manufactured by one of their front enterprises turned up in one of Parvo's vehicles that they captured (or the vehicle itself was based on one of their industrial vehicles, like one of those huge mining dump trucks)."
