Frozen Symphony Contest Entries

Here are my entries for this contest. They were pretty fun to design these, especially the Echo Blast users.

Starting from the upper left, clockwise:

Nokrum
Nocturnal + Knocker + Gollum
Normal/Ghost

Nokrum inhabit deep caves and mines. They use their elongated second fingers to create echoes, which they use to create a sonic map so they can find their way in complete darkness. When kept fed by the miners, Nokrum living in mines will often help lost pokemon and miners get back to the surface by leading them with their knocking.

Learns some Dark-type moves through levelup, such as Bite.

Echo Blast: Nokrum pounds on the ground with its elongated finger, creating an explosive blast of sound.

Based on Gollum, Aye-Ayes and Knockers


Golpheist
Ghost + Dolphin + Poltergeist
Ghost/Normal

Golpheist are often mistaken for cargo ships in the fog constantly emitted through their mouths and blowholes. This allows them to sneak up on fishing ships, stealing the full nets of fish. When provoked, Golpheist can be extremely dangerous, though they are usually content to roam the high seas alone.

Learns some Fire-type moves through levelup, such as Smokescreen.

Echo Blast: Golpheist unleashes a loud pulse of sound from its mouth, stunning the target.

Based on Dolphins and their hunting habits, Cargo barges, and Ghost ships


Harbroth
Harbinger + Moth
Ghost/Normal

Despite their ghastly appearance, Harbroth are quite benevolent pokemon. They fly to the sites of future catastrophes, in an attempt to warn those who would be involved to leave. Due to this they have been associated with death and destruction, and are seen as a harbinger of doom. They are often preyed upon by large bat-like pokemon such as Golbat, and defend against their sonar by jamming it with Echo Blast, confusing the predator's echolocation.

Echo Blast: Harbroth vibrates drum-like membranes on its belly, creating explosive pulses of sound.

Based on Tiger Moths and the Mothman


Petachu
Petaurus (Sugar Glider) + -chu
Electric/Fairy

Stimulated by its new Fairy typing, this evolution of Pikachu has developed flight membranes between its arms and legs. It flies high during thunderstorms in order to be charged up by lightning strikes. Though its cheek pouches are still important for electric attacks, its tail now acts as a discharge rod for both releasing excess electricity and attacking.

Based on Pikachu and the Sugar Glider.





All names may change in the future, whether by the team of Frozen Symphony if they dictate so after selecting my designs, or by me later on if they are not chosen. Either way, these pokemon are likely to appear in the Kansai region.
