What are Hayals?

      Hayals are mysterious beings in form of Fennec foxes residing in a desert-like environment called May.

What are their noticeable traits?

      They possess large pointy fox ears and twin tails with half an eye shape on each one, which combines into a full evil eye when near together; causing hallucinations and all sorts of illusions. They also have a "third eye" as well and its position varies from Hayal to Hayal. Their ears are plain. Below is what their tails look like when combined close,

What are their abilities like?

      They basically enhance the desires of their victims in order to feast on it; thirsty travelers may find a well, exhausted ones may find comfort, greedy hunters may find abundance of treasures and such. The more desire a person has, the more a Hayal is prone to approaching them to take control over the person's fate; some choosing to drag travelers towards their doom, some being of great help instead.

Physique?

      They range anywhere from child-sized to young adult form similar to humans.

Lifespan?

      They don't age the same way humans do. Their growth depends on the desire they manage to feast on off of others. Needless to say that they are beings that can live for eternity, but the longer they go on without using their powers or consuming desire, the quicker they cease to exist. It's a cycle of survival where nothingness awaits in the end.

Attire?

      They dress in Arabian / Middle Eastern styled garb. Some adore looking attractive because it's easier to see someone's desires when a person is more off-guarded; often times wearing gold, jewels and other form of eye-catching accessories.

Bairn Hayal

      These are children Hayals (not chibis! they’re actually kid-sized)! They brim with the kind of innocence that shows that they're new to the world and everything is an experience. That being said, they have little to no sense of self-control and their ability to "eat" desire is very limited as they do not have colour to their eye on their tails yet (it's centered white instead of black like the adult Hayals). Casting illusions are impossible for them at this stage, but they can still typically "eat" desires if they come across it. They also do not have the third eye on their body, which makes them unable to transform into human form to disguise themselves. They do however, transform into fennec fox form more often and that helps them roam around just as easy- so in game terms, they're level 1 kids!

Twin Hayal

      Twin Hayals are identical in appearance since birth, but may differ in personality. What separates them from the common Hayal is that they have the eye on only one tail instead of both. Twin Hayals are almost always found together or nearby each other because in order to cast their illusion powers, they depend on the other twin- meaning one twin cannot perform on his or her own. They generally have an inseparable bond despite what their relationship may be, which is just as strong as any Hayal, but with the advantage of being physically two individuals.

Void Hayal

      Void Hayals with black sclera have either feasted too much or too little on desires and are at the peak of their lifespans. Their illusions tend to be nightmare-ish and "worldly"- trapping their victims in a void-like dimension and that limits their influence to a certain range, but their excessive illusion usage potentially eats them up physically as well. Due to this, many end up hurting or killing their victims instead and they are fully aware of their actions. These Hayals are infamous for their unwanted presence amongst both humans and other Hayals for they are not just hungry, but they are desperately craving for desires that suit their palate.

M O R E   I N F O R M A T I O N

Describe May?

      A desert spread across the continent for miles and miles separating areas April and June (soon to come!). It is rumored to be known as a land that can "see" your desires and if not careful, be consumed by it. There are places of civilization that used to live alongside the Hayals, but lately the humans fear their existence and thread with caution (some are still okay with it though). There are also many abandoned areas and caves with hidden treasure known to be the prime reason for many travelers and hunters alike.

Do they have normal needs?

      While they can taste and consume food and drinks the same way humans do, it doesn't affect them. Their actual meal is by consuming the desires of others heightened by their hallucination powers. Only Hayals are able to see the scent of desire using their "third eye"; it is cotton candy textured and their source of survival and growth. It's like filling up your car tank with gas,

What about other forms?

      They do have other forms! They can disguise as humans, which requires them to hide their fox ears and tails in the process. During this form, their "third eye" remains closed and only opens when it "sees" a desire worth consuming. Disguising as humans takes up a handful of desire energy and makes them more vulnerable because of their limitations, but nonetheless easier to blend in. They also have a Fennec fox form and their twin tails differentiate them from the normal ones.

Is there a limit to transforming?

      Children are typically born with less self-control, therefore they tend to transform into their fox form easier from emotional trigger alone and it takes a while to reappear back to normal. They cannot disguise themselves as humans in this stage. The young adults on the other hand, have more control over their transformation regardless of either form.

How can they be of help when they prey on desires?

      It's easier to lead travelers to their deaths, but most of the time it is not their intention to kill. For example, a Hayal senses a thirsty traveler and attracts him/her by continuously making an oasis appear, but only to feed on his/her growing desire the more the person follows. This might end up with the person getting lost in his/her direction and dies from thirst. Some Hayals know what they're doing and guide them in the right direction instead. Some are merely curious and some know too much of what they're capable of. I'll let you play around with that concept!

Can a Hayal procreate?

      Yes, they can! With both Hayals and humans.

What happens if a Hayal mates a human?

      You don't get Kaleidoscope vision during climax or anything like that during the do, so it's nothing special, but while the chances of getting human children are higher, there is a possibility for them to be born as a Hayal as well. He/She will go through the same growing process just like any other Hayal would.

When are your customs open?

      I still have a lot of pending customs to do, so they won't be open for a while.
          But if they do, they will be in form of deviations just like these,
          Otherwise, I post premade Hayals from time to time and you can catch those instead!
          My usual submission times for Hayals are either 11:00AM or 11:00PM +8 GMT Malaysian time.

Will you be doing MYOs (Make Your Owns)?

      At the moment, no. I'm the type of person that goes bonkers when my stuff isn't organized, so I don't trust myself to start doing MYOs yet especially when I'm currently busy IRL too. I apologize a lot for this!

Can we trade designs of our species?

      I honestly would love to support other species, but time is not on my side and hands, so I'll have to decline as well! T_T

Can I redesign my Hayal's clothes and colours?

      By all means! As long as you're happy the way your Hayal looks, then I'm happy too. Remember to show me your edits beforehand though!

Can I change my Hayal type?

      Nope! Not only it'll affect a major part of the design, but also cause confusion if you ever intend to trade or resell it.
