Because I am interested in doing some roleplays, I have written down some information and guidelines about my style.

RULES

♦ Communication: The most important rule! I really need to be able to talk to the people I RP with. We don't need to talk 24/7 but I'd like to talk to you about Ocs from time to time! If I can't make a click I'm likely to drop the thing.

Grammar and spelling: I do NOT ask that you use the most elaborate English you know. I am from Belgium myself, so my English isn't perfect either. As long as you can express yourself and I can understand what your character is saying or doing, I won't mind spelling errors. I do prefer proper capitalisation and punctuation in your posts.

Godmodding: I don't want to roleplay with anyone who godmods. Unless your character is a god or supposed to be nearly immortal, I prefer realistic weaknesses. In the same way as I expect to encounter no Mary Sues. Since that term is so subjective, I can assure you that your character probably isn't one.

WHAT I RP

Only original. No fandom whatsoever. The world can be decided on, but I prefer an original one rather than a generic fantasy world. So either my original world or, if you own one, yours.

   Genres (Stars are a must)

♦ Medieval fantasy :star:
♦ Includes mythological humanoids :star:
♦ Original worlds :star:
♦ Adventure
♦ Survival
♦ Slice of life, daily life

  I will RP

♦ A mix of the above genres. I prefer genre follows plot, not the other way round. I have a love with both casual laid back types of RP and more serious RPs where lots of important stuff happens, and I am definitely down for having both of them in the RP as the scene calls for.
♦ Inclusion of supernatural themes! The RP doesn't have to focus on the research and discovery of these creatures, but I love to include non-human characters. I love adding demons, although I don’t see them as edgy dark creatures but more as one of many humanoid creatures.
♦ General friendship in RPs. It’s not fun when every character I play as is an enemy of yours.
♦ I can play both female and male characters. I can also play multiple characters at the same time if needed.
♦ Alternate universe RPs. If I get enough time to work out how the characters would live in that alternate universe, I don't mind doing one. This includes transportation to another world, or altering the world's reality, timeline, etc.

   What I don’t mind in a RP

♦ Death of characters. As long as I have either given green lights on killing a character (Which doesn’t mean they have to be killed, just that I wouldn’t mind) or you’ve asked and I approved, you can kill my character. Whether I'm okay with it or not depends on the context.
♦ Gore and torture. Boy, do I love adding these elements to a RP. Unless specified elsewhere, you can torment my character as long as it doesn’t permanently maim them and is applicable in the situation.
♦ Drama. Bring on the needless IC drama. As long as it doesn’t get repetitive, I’m fine with it.
♦ Cursing. If it fits your character and you can keep it varied, curse away!
♦ Straight, gay, whatever relationships and mentions thereof.

  I won't RP

♦ Roleplays solely about romance. They're not for me, I don't care for them and feel uneasy in such RPs. This doesn’t mean that over the course of a RP my characters are immune to love. I just wouldn't want to have to go OOC to prevent them from acting on it, because I really don't like 'em.
♦ Explicit sexual content and smut.
♦ Animals. I have a few animal OCs, but it can't revolve around them alone. Animals are too limited for that, and I prefer to stray from animals with human intelligence.

WHERE I RP

Lately, I've only fancied Google Docs as a place to RP. It's easy, it's clean, and it has a chat function. I'll only accept Docs or TH's private world forums for RP.

RP FORMAT

Two different formats:

I always do paragraph. As long as you're okay with dialogue heavy scenes where there's not too much description, I'm fine with anything. But I can do and like to do detailed posts if I need to describe an environment, a character, or an action.

Elaborate paragraph (+5 paragraphs) is too much for me and won't be used unless I'm giving a description of something where no interaction is required from your side. Else, it doesn’t allow for things to actually happen and takes up way too much time. So much potential time used to roleplay is lost at writing a book rather than making a story. I can do it, but I can assure you I might lose interest soon if every post has to be a small book.

TIME I'M USUALLY ONLINE AND ABLE TO RP

Belgium time (GMT +1 or +2, depending on the date). This is about 6-8 hours later than the US.

Monday, Tuesday, Friday: 9:00-24:00;
Wednesday, Thursday: 18:00-23:00;
Vacation: either 13:00-5:00 or 8:00-22:00. Depends entirely on how well I sleep.

My sleeping pattern is usually way off so I'm often up all night and sleep all day. Exception is Wednesday and Thursday, when I'm at school and have to sleep properly.

WHAT USUALLY LEADS TO A RP GETTING DROPPED

♦ We don't talk to each other outside the RP or we don't have a click that makes us compatible as RP partners or friends. This is my biggest point of dropping the RP.
♦ Overpowered characters that aren't handled very well by the creator, Mary Sues, and generally people who only try to bring their characters in the spotlight. I don't mind overpowered characters, but they have to fit in.
♦ People who stop replying.
♦ I think the RP has gotten boring, pointless or as if we’re pushing to have anything eventful happen. When this happens, we can still discuss how we can make it more interesting, but if we can't find anything it's likely to go on hiatus.

Note: I will always try to tell you when I drop the roleplay. Unless I get a stroke or something and forget it exists.

CHARACTERS

I'll always use my own OCs. You can find all of 'em here and my faves here. I often use Garry but don't mind using others than him!

ROLEPLAY SAMPLES

PARAGRAPH
Note: this is my most detailed first post so far. Nothing I'll ever reply will be this long again, but it should give you the gist of what one of my starters looks like.

The trek had been going for a few hours already that day. Just as the weeks before, it traveled through barren olive-coloured fields. Hills surrounded the barely visible road, shrubs, grasses and dead pieces of wood were the only signs of vegetation. In the more northern regions this only meant that winter wasn't far ahead anymore, if the nearly freezing temperature wasn't enough of an indication already. The last city they had passed was at least a week away, no other settlements were to be found in the immediate area.

A group of about thirty people, strangers to each other, rode the eight carts used to transport the goods they had with them; blankets, spare clothes, any type of food that could be kept for an extended period of time, possessions of those who were moving, vaults of valuables and gold, all of it was to be found there. The caravan made its way over the lands to reach the city of Kreya, a city known for its prosperity and its intellectual heritage. A handful of interested scientists, intellectuals and nobles had joined the caravan in order to reach the city, but there was no shortage of adventurers and hunters who were also interested in the journey itself. With one group navigating the caravan and the other collecting food for the group, at least a small bond was created in the group. But real trust was nowhere to be found among the strangers. How was it possible in a group of so many different species?

In one of the carts near the back of the caravan, a silent man who had joined the journey last-minute sat leaning his back against the wooden edge of the vehicle on one of the heightened wooden structures functioning as a bench. Violet eyes covered by glass were looking out in front of them, the lids almost covering the tired orbs entirely. The demon was in his late twenties, but the stress of constantly moving and the risk of being attacked could wear him out pretty easily. With the chin resting against his chest, he was starting to doze off again.

Even if sleep wasn't exactly ideal without the warmth of a fur blanket, the clothes he wore would protect him whenever he took a nap. Except for his head, his entire body was covered in thick fur clothes, most still in their original earthly colours. The attire did a great job at camouflaging his body in the surrounding plains, as opposed to how easy it would be to spot him if it was just bare red skin. Over his shoulders, he had a grey woolen cloak, long enough to reach his knees whenever he was standing. In the current situation, it hung off the bench, gently following the movement of the cart and almost risking touching the floor.

Much wasn't known about the blond. He preferred to keep to himself and only spoke to others when it was about the hunting duties or about the details of the trip itself. The man would participate in the hunt daily and seemed to find it an enjoyable chore. He always kept his bow near him, just as he was softly grasping the weapon during his nap. He spent most of this days just blending in, sometimes watching that there were no wild animals around to mess up the carts, at other times just looking around relaxed or getting some extra sleep he hadn't gotten the night before. To him, the journey was more important than the destination.

CURRENT PLOT IDEAS

♦ I have this one plot where our characters are taking a caravan somewhere together with many other inhabitants of the world during the first months of winter but are ambushed and forced to survive together in the harsh wilderness in the middle of nowhere. It's a plot I've been trying to do multiple times now but because it's so ambiguous it's always open for use.

♦ Another plot would involve one of your OCs getting wounded near one of my OCs' places and getting taken in to be nursed back to health. This RP would heavily rely on character interaction and coming up with stuff on the spot to work and we'd need to see how we can continue this one. It is a great way to tell the characters' stories and build the world. Can also be where my character is wounded and ends up with yours.

♦ This one's especially AU. One of your characters is transported from their original universe and meets one or several of my OCs. Once again this would heavily rely on character interaction and coming up with stuff on the spot, but if you want to keep your OC in their current setting with their current backstory this one's the way to go.

♦ General friendship, OC meets OC, that type of stuff

♦ Basically anything you can come up with! Our OCs can meet in a certain way or have a shared goal and band together to find a way to reach this goal. Be creative, if you have an idea I'm interested in hearing it and expanding upon it!

SPECIAL NOTES

♦

♦ I prefer to keep to a few general rules of realism when roleplaying, so that neither characters are overpowered if it's not logical for them to be. Those things should be self evident (No natural blue hair unless it was a created species, no 7 year old kid destroying an entire city with her awesome magic skills, no cell phones and light switches in the middle ages, no obese man of age 47 running swift like the wind, no teleporting across the whole world and back in a few seconds, that type of stuff). If there are inconsistencies with realism, I will probably point it out and ask for the action to be modified or otherwise justified. It’s a quirk of mine :B

PARTNER APPLICATION (OPTIONAL)

If you've got the time for it, please fill out the following questions and send it to me either in a note or as a comment. This isn't necessary if you wanna RP, but it can help structure your likes!

1. Plot idea? (Either one of my above listed if I have any up, or an idea of your own.)
2. Your limitations/what you are not comfortable RPing?
3. Any particular things you'd need in an RP? (Dark things, death, romance, ...)
4. Any questions for me concerning the potential RP?
5. When you are generally online and can RP? (Including your timezone)
6. A sample of your RP style. (Please make it a decent length to allow me to get a feel for your style and how you would tend to reply)
7. Where can you RP and where can you contact me?
8. Other comments/info?

Is this still relevant? I might want to try roleplaying with you, but I'm slow, I may take over an hour to compose a response in English. (Yeah, I really need to practice it.)
