Yeah, people always talk about how sonic is about running through colorful worlds(which were islands), but compared to Lost World, they still had a certain artstyle that kept them from being too bright, so they would still look cool. Just wanted to clarify.

you know this can also be used in defense of Satam having more realistic backgrounds, it just didn't use any specific locations from the games and and didn't feature any slopes, loops, or floating platforms but those were just gameplay things anyways so that's not a big deal really for a cartoon adaptation really.
