dAWishingWell is a group that inspires and promotes the granting of dA related wishes. I sat down with James--Steele (the groups "unofficial PR Admin") to find out a little more about the group, and how it works.
So, tell us a little bit about the group--when/why was it created and who came up with the idea?
dAWishingWell was created by MamaLantiis on New Year's Eve of 2011 (Dec 31st). She has a huge heart and wanted to help grant people's "wishes" for different dA-related things like points, premium subscriptions, and more! 
): SavageFrog, PizzaPotatoNBacon, Stygma, rainylake, TheGalleryOfEve, PumpkinQueen13, and Riemea! Actually, yes we do. But it doesn't work the same way as the traditional "wishing well" works. (TheWishingWidget could be considered a well, but to gather points to grant wishes. Donating will not speed up the granting of your wish, but will certainly help grant more! 
)In a sense, just by joining and making a wish, one "casts" their wish into our Well - the lists. Most wishes have been extensively worked on, chipped away little by little. It's extremely hard to gather the means to grant larger wishes all at once, so we save our winnings from contests, or purchase a bit of points. Every little bit goes a long way.
The gist is: As long as you don't have deviantART or copyright law violations in your gallery, aren't overly aggressive -whether in your journals your comments - and aren't showing desperation for points in other places (we have a zero-tolerance for "begging for points", especially on someone's page. And we have ways to check if you have. 
), you'll be fine. The process of "reviewing" potential members doesn't take too long (varying usually from 1 day to 1 week depending on how many active admins we have on the Review Team account)
So be a squeaky clean member, be patient, and your wish will be worked to death until it's granted.

Featured gallery is for admin-recommended works only. The dA Happenings folder is for journals about "happenings" like events, contests, giveaways etc. Feel free to submit your events there.The other folders are mainly closed. "Day-specific" folders are for the admins only. "Wishing for a DD" and "Comment Critique Wishes" folders are for members who have been successfully placed on the list, wishing for a DD or for more critiques, respectively.
Just let us know what wish you've granted or helped along, and we'll start to slowly organize it. (or fast, depending on which admins are working the notes section )) - decided to fill up the week with more days.
