#38 Chapter 3 Sighting the oasis

Stacy and Gemina walked along the edges of the beach. Draped over the mare’s back was her blanket while Stacy held the damaged halter. They had been exploring the beach for what must have been hours. Searching for something, anything, whether it be some food, something washed up from the ship or even another living being. So far it had all turned up empty.

“You know, Gem, I’m starting to wonder if we’re out here all by ourselves…” Just as the young woman was finishing this she spotted something in the distance. “Hey Gem, I think that’s another horse and…” she jumped pointing excitedly, “and another person!” As they were still a long way off she kept herself from racing over there, not wanting to waste all her energy. “Thanks God we’re not the only ones to have survived the shipwreck…”
