Divine Blood Races: Demons

God life force is blue and referred to as mana. It is stable, abstract but slow.

The Demons evolved from the first known major race and have been around for several million years longer than the Gods. Like the Gods, they took on human form around 100,000 years ago.

The Demons have the same physical agelessness and will live until physically killed just like the Gods. They also have the same issues with slow degradation of sanity which is fixed by the process of reincarnation. The reason why the Gods and Demons suffer from some of the same tendencies is that they are both parallel evolutions by different species capped off with the Gods stealing the secrets of the transformative process that originally elevated the Demons to immortality. Demons are a lot more slender than Gods, though it's not shown here much, Demons also more often have brighter colorations, such as reds, blondes and more exotic colors. However, in this case, most of the Demons presented are dark haired.

First is Ravanna, Demon of Eyes. Like Euphrosyne, he's a recent reincarnate. He's further along in his current childhood than she is though, he looks roughly 14 to 16. So he's within 2 to 4 years of being able to access all his skills and memories as well as retesting for access to power. Ravanna is a big name among the Demons, being something of a continual enemy of Vishnu's and making him rather critical of and a rival of Queen Lilith. A lot of big names among both Gods and Demons are in a childhood cycle right now.

Second is Rene, Demoness of Paperwork. She's not a fighter, or even a spy. Just a secretary, but for finding any sort of information, understanding bureaucratic procedures and twisting them to delay or frustrate someone, she is your Demon to call. She is the daughter of Ilujanka, Demoness of Snakes a rather well known Rakshasha (soldier) and the fact that she's not even a Shadow or Faustian rankles on her mother given that Rene is her only child in several thousand years of life.

Third is Jack Lantern, Demon of Fear, a sometime Faustian, sometime Shadow that was ascended from humanity sometime around 500 years ago. Mostly he's a Faustian moving in mortal criminal societies and causing them to fall apart. He has a small circle of black magicians loyal to him that spread out some of his spells to superstitious criminals, allowing him to make subtle use of favors to cause criminals to turn on each other in ways that make them fall apart with minimal problem for the surrounding neighborhood.

Fourth is Ethlinn, who was partially responsible for exposing her father's, Balor's, serial killing of healers and death-seers. She parlayed that into getting a position of prominence and eventually suggested the Compact as a method to enforce the truce. Later it was found that she had placed some malicious curses within the system designed to let her manipulate it to power. She was exposed early when one of her many homonculi children's embedded behavioral curses were triggered early (during interrogation by Gods after capture in the field). Ethlinn is currently sealed within Tartarous for her crimes after the Gods of Nirvana caught her on the run from Yomi's authorities. The fact that Nirvana captured and punished one of their criminals rankles on Yomi, and adds to their desire to capture someone like Zeus sometime.
