For `Memnalar's annual, and always awesome, All Hallow's Tales Prose Contest. This year's theme: Frankentales! :zombie:

If you're thinking I might have misinterpreted the theme, then don't be silly, of course I haven't. Entries don't have to include any Frankenstein's monsters, but on the other hand there's no reason why they shouldn't, and these ideas just screamed at me when Jay sent me my unique prompts and words. The name of the contest might have had some influence too, and anyway, I thought it would be pretty neat to pay a little extra homage to the theme.

My prompts and words are:
Your protagonist realizes s/he has to save the marriage.
The need to protect someone so a prophecy comes true is an important part of the story.
WORDS: perplexing blended trust hipbone

I suppose you might question whether Percy and Mary are legally married, but the rules do say that I can interpret the prompts how I like, so I don't see why 'the marriage' shouldn't be a somewhat unconventional one. Similarly, prophecies don't have to come from an accredited source (I couldn't see the characters actually using the word 'prophecy', but 'marriage', I could). I used the exact words given to me, not variants, because I consider this to be right and proper. So there.
