Spread the word~

Hey ya'll! I haven't posted a journal in a long time, so I thought I would talk about a recent conflict that has happened in my life!

So, I have a Minecraft server that is open only to my friends, and anyone who is whitelisted. My sister, two of her friends, my dad, my dad's friend's son, my cousin, my friend, and I are all whitelisted on the server. So, a couple of days ago, My sister, her friend (he will remain unnamed), my friend (he will also remain unnamed), and I were all playing on the server. My friend was asking my sister's friend some random questions, because that's what we do on our server for fun. So, remembering the recent dispute that my friend, a classmate, and I all had over who was better (Transformers or Ponies) my friend asked my sister's friend if he liked either one. His response was "TRANSFORMERS ARE FOR 6 YEAR OLDS, AND PONIES ARE FOR GAY MEN" And, my friend is a brony! My sister's friend totally knew that he was a brony, and I think he was saying that just because he hates my friend. At that point, my friend had to leave to study. After he left, I completely blew up in my sister's friend's face about how completely inappropriate it was to say that. He held his ground, and I re-informed him that my friend was a brony, and he claimed he didn't even know. Which he did, so he was definately lying.

Anyways, saying that is very upsetting to me, because My Little Pony is NOT just a girl's show, because it's about friendship and things like that. A guy can like friendship and not be gay people! My dad thinks he was just using gay as a substitute for stupid, but no, he wasn't! He was using it in the actual term being "not straight", and that just doesn't fly for me! My friend is NOT gay, and my sister's friend got muted for saying that.

So, in my view, the word gay is not appropriate for anyone to say, unless they were meaning it in the actual term. It should NOT be used as an insult, because there are people out there who really are like that, and they are perfectly fine! I just want to spread the word, to stop the misuse of that word. It's just like how other people are trying to spread the word about not using the word retard as an insult. Don't do it.
